Simon Cowell Trashes Beyonce, Defends Ashlee Simpson

I heard this last week.

Cowell defending Ashlee is unbelievable. He lost a lot of credibility for that.

Seriously Simon, did you see the halftime show?!?

 

I like Simon Cowell on Idol. But sometimes the crap he says doesn't make any sense at all.

 

Not that Im an Ashlee fan, but she does get trashed way more than she should.

And I dont agree with him about Beyonce. She does her thing well.

 

Wasn't he the creative force behind the Spice Girls? What credibility does he have anyways?

yeah, I was getting a little loose with the language there. I think the young ones enjoy it when I "get down" verbally.

 

I think she's gotta pretty good face....

 

Yet another reason to avoid American Idol....besides the lame music and that guy who says DAWG all the time.

 

I agree with this. It isn't like Ashlee is the only one out there that sucks. Brittany ALWAYS lip sychs and she is a HORRIFIC singer, yet no one ever talks about that as long as she is nearly naked.

Ashlee is suffering from coattail syndrome. She is being blasted for being pulled up by her sister's coattails and it isn't really fair. Her sister is just as bad - maybe worse. At least Ashlee's songs are moderately rockin'.

Unfortunately, since Avril (who is actually talented at what she does whether you like her or not) came out, everybody is trying to turn every female singer into her - Kelly Clarkson, Ashlee, etc. It's the copycat syndrome that has been going on in the biz since the early 90's.

As for Beyonce, Cowell is just a moron on that count or blind or both.

I look at it this way. If Ashlee sucks I get nothing out of it. But if even one future song is good then I get something out of it. So I'll root for her.

I agree with him that Beyonce can't sing. But she IS hot, and that's why she has a career. Unfortunately, good looks can compensate for a complete lack of talent in the entertainment industry. Ashlee Simpson doesn't have talent or looks, so she's getting justifiably trashed.
