My wife ordered us a box of this stuff for Valentine's day. I've always loved chocolate and have liked Godiva and Lindt.

This stuff blows all others out of the water.

Apparently this is popular in California. Each peice of chocolate is a totally different experience. Do yourself a favor...indulge yourself and order a box.

Anybody else have any suggestions of chocolates or confections to order that people might not generally know about? If stuff can taste this good, I'd like to see what else is out there in the world.

When we were Paris we discovered a chocolate shop called “La Maison du Chocolat.” Simply amazing chocolates! I cannot even think or looking at American chocolate now

    http://www.lamaisonduchocolat.com/

But there is one chocolate maker we’ve recently found here in America that gives La Maison a run for it’s money. Jacques Torres Chocolates! Made right here in good ol’ Brooklyn!

first of all, chocolate in the US sucks compared to Europe and even Canada. Hershey has monopolized the system and given us crap chocolate.
Second, as a result of the first problem, godiva and lindt tastes better than it actually is.

Ever since i went to england and had their different varieties of cadburys, can't go back to american chocolate (btw cadbury's in the US is completely different from cads anywhere else, as in worse). Chocolate is much better in france and belgium as well.

As richard Jenni said, Let the euros build the soufle's, croissants, and chocolatieres, they are good at that, And let the U.S. build bunker busting kick your ass all over the place smart bombs.

It's kind of ironic considering cocoa beans originated from the Americas (South America to be exact).

I was watching Food Network this weekend, it was all about chocalate. If I had the time and the tools, I'd be making some serious chocolate. Muffins, mousse, truffles, fudge, etc.

Nestle used to have great tasting chocolate here, but now everyone's suckered by the cheaper price.
