Lately I have noticed (last 4-5 games) that T-Mac is not getting his usual elevation on his jump shot. And also have noticed him grimacing in pain a few times down the court....personally I think he is playing with a few small injuries. Saying this and the min. he has been playing lately I think he should take the All-Star game off and get a well deserved break to heal up. This would give him an extra 2-3 days of rest.

I know the other side of the argument is that he owes it to the fans that voted him in to play, but I also think he owes it to the Rockets to be healthy not only to get us to the playoffs, but healthy enough to take us deep in the playoffs.

Let me know what u guys think.

i think rest would be nice but i have the feeling he'll play. same with yao. i think we'd be better served if they just sat out and relaxed but i doubt that's happening.

He doesn't have to play a lot of minutes. The more Rocket representation the better.

I know they have to, but I wish T-Mac and Yao could sit this one out. Hopefully they can keep the minutes to a minimum.

The All star game is hardly a real game, it is more like a relaxing practice.

Let 'em showcase. The league is supposed to be fun. You take that away, and we are the old rockets again, no fun. Keep the momentum rolling.

don't forget that he also owes it to Adidas to be a walking billboard. Ever since Shaq, some of those contracts say that the player has to play in every allstar game unless they are injured or not voted in.

yea i say they'll play. But all star game is just an exhibition. It's more about ego, which conference has the better player...but in the last couple of all star games...it doesnt seemed to matter any more. It's for the fans

he should play he always makes it entertaining with the alley-oops off the backboard to himself. its going to be a relaxing fun game i dont think there will be any sort of real intensity to it. no defense is generally played until the last 5 mins if the game is close when player put their pride on the line. i am looking forward to seeing how a backcourt of t-mac and kobe will be like.

Of course he should play. Players get the week off so hopefully TMac will get to rest then.

I do not know if taking off from the ASG will do Mac much good. The way I see it, I think he will play with some kind of hurt all season long. He will need the entire off season to heal up - also a solid off season weight and strength programme from Faizone will do him a world of good.

Interestingly with the same token, Sura's knee has mysterious gotten better despite the fact that he is playing with it. Here is hoping that Mac gets better not worse as the season rolls along.

Flying out to the All Star game will give T-Mac a chance to fly in his luxery jet. Fly out on his jet, hang with the celebrity types, jog out for the intro, jog back on defense, think T Mac will be O

i know the All star game is just for fun and is not played seriously by the players....but there the travel involved and not being able to chill in your own pad. There's nothing like sleeping in our own bed.....well unless (nevermind) :D

It is not the ASG that wears players out, it is all those parties and crazy celebration that worn them out.

Anyone know of any injuries ever suffered in the All-Star game?

I can't think of any. There was speculation in LA that Shaq agggravated his toe injury a couple of years ago.

I think our 2 stars know to take it easy. 15-25 minutes in a light scrimmage shouldn't be a risk.

On the other hand, an injury would suck.

They won't play too hard. Having a good 'ole time could be even better than not playing at all. I think Yao enjoys it greatly.
