I went when i was like seventeen like five years ago. They are good if you are like under twelve. But its fun.
I saw them last spring here at UF. Had courtside seats, caught an errant pass, and gave high-fives to a few off the players during warm-ups. Overall, it was very entertaining and worth the money. They had some amazing dunks and hit some incredible shots, but when it came down to it they could play legitimate hard-nosed bball and make the shots they needed to make. I'm sure you'll have a great time.
THey used to do something in NW quite a few years in a row at least when I was in junior high. I saw them a few times. One year curly neal was there signing autographs at the game too.
There was a special on PBS last night as part of the ongoing series for Blakc History Month about them... pretty much explains why they're in the HOF. You can also go to their website: http://www.harlemglobetrotters.com Look at the history section... particularly the 1940s through the 1960s. They beat the Minneapolis Lakers a few times in the late 40s-- legitimizing black players to basketball fans. The first black players in the NBA joined from the Globetrotters in 1950. They popularized basketball all over the world... playing in huge stadiums in front of 75000+ people. Being inducted into the HOF isn't just about stats or titles... these guys were pioneers.
I saw them at the Summit for their "Diamond Jubilee Tour," which I think was actually their 65th year anniversary. It was very entertaining. I've watched them on tv when they would play Michigan State a few years back. They are legit players when they want to be. No matter what, it is a good time, especially if you have children.
