I am going to see the Harlem Globetrotters tomorrow and don't really know what to expect. Are they going to play a real game against another team? I wonder if they will have the Rockets game on one of the TV's in TC. I am taking my little brother, hopefully it will be worth money. Give me some details of the scene if you guys have ever been. I am sitting in section 114A. Thanks guys.

Never. My girls want to go, but I have NEVER been. I don't have enough money to go. Does anyone want to give up their tickets?

Last time I saw the Globetrotters, they were fighting crime along side some hippy kids operating out of their van and this crazy talking dog.

Me and my brother took our kids once. It was fun. If you've ever seen them on TV, they are the same live.

They clown around, but somehow most of their shots fall. When we went, one of the players made a shot from half court blind-folded. That was pretty amazing.

I've seen them before and they were quite impressive. They didn't play a game or anything but they hit all of their shots while doing amazing flips and other mat work.

I saw them back at the Summit when I was a kid, kind of fun for kids to watch, and this one guy kept making hook shots from the right side just beyond mid court, (where the big pink "S" for the Summit used to be) which was pretty cool.

I saw them about 14 years ago at the Summit.

Pretty much like what swilkins said. If you've seen them on tv, that's what you'll see. The mics take a little getting used to, and you can tell when they are going into a "bit", but other than that a fun time.

Saw them a LONG time ago with Meadowlark and Curly. Meadowlark would make four or five over the shoulder half court shots in a row. Absolutely amazing.

I am boycotting the Globetrotters. In 2000 they ran a promotion for children born that year. If you had a child in 2000, filled out some info, and sent in a birth announcement, the child would receive a lifetime pass to all games. I sent in all the stuff for my son and at the exact same time sent in stuff for my neice who was born 5 days after my son. My neice got her pass but my son didn't. I sent an email to them and no one responded. I sent my stuff in again and still nothing. In all I ended up sending them 3-4 more emails, and never got any response. Since then I have vowed to never go to a game ever.

Believe it or not, they actually came to Manchester, TN a long, long time ago - like 23 years ago.

I don't think they played the Generals; more like a local all-star team. I don't think Curly was playing with them at that time (he was either hurt or taking a break from the Globetrotters). The guys I remember were Sweet Lou Dunbar and Geese Augsbie (sp?). I also don't remember them doing any fancy trick shots but they did do that weave play several times and that thing was awesome to see.

For some reason, I was so excited to get the autograph of Larry the trainer for the team.

Maybe it was because this guy was a real nutjob, LOL.

I've never seen the 'Trotters, but I ran into a few guys that played for the Generals in a bar in Heidelberg, Germany in the early '90's.

They said they actually played for real until it was time for the skits and, if you screwed that up (i.e., made the 'Trotters look bad), it was your ass. They said the money was actually pretty good and they got travel all over the world, so they all really liked it. Except for losing all the time.

Fun event for all ages, especially for the kids. They keep you entertained throughout the entire game. Definately a must see if you have never been.

Last time I saw them was on Gilligan's Island... :D

I'd love to see them in person though.
