    Thankfully, I've avoided the flu.

Instead, I have a Sinus infection.

My sinus infection went into Tonsilitis and Strep throat and to top it all off I had an abcess gland which results in your whole face on on side swelling up like a balloon....

    Taking Biaxin XL 500MG

    I am getting better

I've avoided catching it, but upon reading this thread, I know I will have it by the beginning of next week.

Damn, I am immune to the flu and everything else I think. I have a choromosome translocation, and I think I am some kind of mutant that just doesn't get sick. I haven't had a fever in probably 20 years.

Every year I get the flu shot...and almost every year I still get the damn flu. It really pisses me off, my immune system is weak beyond belief. This year the flu's been hittin harder and I've been sick for the past 5 days...headache, fever, muscke ache, sore throat, congestion, coughing/sneezing...you name it, I've got it...

    I hate the flu:mad:

Well, basically I have all my chromosomes, but parts of my 5 and 9 broke off and attatched to each other. Doesn't cause any problems in my case, but most combinations are lethal (which will be a problem when we try to have kids. ) That's it in a nutshell.

    Seriously, I think I'm an X-Men.

How did you ever find out you had it? Most people don't learn about chromosomal problems (unless they are obvious) until they try to have kids.

After moving my stuff back from Harlingen two weekends ago, then working out every weekday, then playing basketball with my nephews both Saturday and Sunday, I hit a wall and have had the sniffles and icky mucous and such. Sore throat. This damned rainy weather hit me when my body was all overtired.

Anyway, I took Oscillocillum (spelling?) early on, so I've been functional. Would like to be 100% and get back to the gym real soon.

P.S. Weird side note. I'm a fairly decent singer, nothing fantastic, and I'm one of those fools you see singing in the car; my voice becomes clearer and near-perfect just before I get a cold. So, unfortunately, when I'm at my singing best, I'm often on the verge of being sick. Oh well.

Well, we've been trying for a couple years. In all the testing, my doc just happened to order a karyotype, which showed the translocation. So.....now we've got to do IVF w/PGD if we want a kid, already gone through one failed cycle. Hopefully you know what I'm talking about and I'm not just spitting out crazy acronyms. :)

Well, I'm keeping this crap from becoming an infection by doing Drixoral day and night, and a couple of shots of Nyquil before bedtime. So far so good....

I was hit with the flu in November and ambushed by the chicken pox in December. What's next? Smallpox? Scarlet fever? I blame the disease-ridden cesspool of germs and filth known as the subway. (Thanks for the immune system workout, Metropolitan Transportation Authority! )
