Is there a connector that I can add to my Computer that will allow me to run cable TV through my monitor?

Yes, go to your local electronic store (Fry's, Best Buy, etc.), they should be in the TV Tuner/ Video Card section.

If you could clarify why you want this, we might be of more help.

There's a ton of possibilities here.

then yeah, you just need a tuner card. Just check the Friday Chronicle for a Fry's ad, as they'll likely have the best price of any retail store.

If you don't mind ordering online, check out www.newegg.com and you'll save even more money.

Do you have Time Warner? Do you have their DVR? If you get a DVD burner (Around $65 from newegg.com) you can transfer video from your DVR and burn it to DVD.

You can also buy sofware that will turn your pc into a DVR, which is better than Time Warner's box in that you can schedule recordings even when you're not home. Just find a computer with internet access, and you can schedule recordings.

First thing you need to do though is make sure you have an open PCI slot on your computer. If you're not sure, do a google search for PCI slot and you can figure it out.

If you needs to record video to hard drive, you have to use tv tuner card. Probably would be cheaper to buy a generic brand from ebay(40 - 60 bucks).

Dude, you paid for CABLE MODEM but not for CABLE TV? Is that it? You want to record CABLE shows from the signal that goes into your PC? is that it? Explain, AB

Did you ever set this up?

I looked up a couple PCI TV Tuner cards and it looks fairly simple. Is it?

I mean if I have wireless in my house (to allow me to connect to the internet) and put one of these cards into my laptop, can I then use my laptop (actually the external monitor via a docking station for my laptop) to replicate a TV?
