Anyone remember the original, Michigan Huaraches? I was more or less a Replacements/Queen-listening punk in 1992, but the Chris Webber Air Huaraches were my big 12th birthday gift that May. Solid shoes to play in, but I still have no clue how I didn't sprain my ankles every time out.
Kobe does not have a "General Release" shoe for public consumption. He has had a limited amount of "lasered" 2k4s released with his name on them (similar to the ones above but all white, brown laser printing), but Nike still refuses to release a "Signature Model" of his shoe for "General Release" to the public because of his rape allegations. I believe the shoe pictured above is only a "Player Exclusive" and is NOT FOR SALE. They are made only in Kobe's size for Kobe but you may be eventually able to find one on ebay. During and after the All Star Break Kobe should switch to the 2k5 which he has already worn once on Christmas Day. Kobe will not be the only NBA Player to wear and promote these shoes, but my have custom "Player Exclusives" made for him. Even though Nike pays Kobe a boat load of money, they refuse to market him as a "Signature Model" Player (Vince Carter, T-Mac, AI, etc.) at this time. They will not attatch only his name to a single product. All Star Version of the 2k5 is pictured on the right:
