CBA experts: Is there a limit on the cash consideraton a team can give in trade?

    This is hypothetical situation used just for an example.

    Could we do a sign and trade for Swift or Cuttino, where we trade Spoon and enough cash to cover his salary ala Glen Rice and perhaps a first round draft pick for them? Spoon would be in his last year so the other team could just release him and not lose any money.

    And you would be right. :)

    Edit: Though, the state of free agency is kind of up in the air, it could be possible this is modified in the next CBA.
