this is purely hypothetical, although it might have a small to nothing chance of happening in the next few years....

what if we could trade yao for KG? i love yao, and i wouldn't trade him for anyone other than duncan and KG. since duncan and the spurs don't seem ready to part, what about KG and the pups?

after years of first round losses, only 2 series won in 10 years, and now maybe a lotto season followed by a few more, wouldn't they consider yao for KG too? not this year or next but in a few, if things don't turn around for them. of course it's hard to say where yao will be at that point talent wise. he could be putting up KG #'s, or he could just level out at 20-10.

either way just for fun lets speed things up a bit. lets say there was a possibility of trading yao for KG after yao signs for the max. it works cap wise and the wolves are willing to start over with yao. what would you do?

Why not trade Yao for a true inside player in Duncan?

    I hate fantasy trade...

Minnesota would never do that trade unless Yao had a big leap in his play. Yao isn't bad right now, but he isn't dominant like we all hoped he would be at this point. Other teams can see that just as well as we can. The problem is, if Yao DID have the big leap in dominant inside play that he would need in order to net Garnett, would you still want to trade him? I sure as hell wouldn't.

I could have sworn that we beat the pups the other night. This thread makes no sense. :p

    No. Keep Yao.

i don't understand why people reply when they have nothing to say. if you don't like a show on tv you change the channel, you don't call the station and complain.

Yao is younger and improving. KG has pretty much piqued as a player, I don't see him improving anymore then what he is averaging these days. Don't get me wrong, he's a great player, a franchise player you build around, but I don't see him improving his game anymore, unless he develops a killer fadeaway.

I feel bad for KG though, it's not his fault that the T-Pups stink this year. Kevin McHale and Flip Saunders are getting roasted in Minny, the fans are trying to figure out who to blame in that mess. IMO, KG is surrounded by a bunch of me-first players and alot of them are past their prime (attention Latrell Sprewell), with at least one with a bad attitude ($9 million?! I've got a family to feed!).

KG does need a new surrounding though. Since I don't see McHale trading him anytime soon, they should clean out that roster, fire Flip, and surround KG with players that will compliment him better (yeah I know, easier said then done) . Of course, that will mean starting all over, but that team is a sinking ship anyways.

If we are talking fantasy here, that Wally Watchamacallem sure does have a nice perimeter game. I know some here don't like him for whatever reason, but he hits his outside shots. But then again, his defense sucks and I think he has a MoT type of contract.

KG is going to be 29 in two months. Also because KG plays a perimenter game, I am not sure whether I want to trade him for Yao. TD is another story though.

If we somehow get a PF to take some fouls away from Yao and he can average 35-36 min/game, Yao can easily average 22/10 with 3-4 shots/game.

of course you'd do it for KG...but only if they included shaq as part of the 3 way deal in which miami received a 1st rounder. oh yeh, and both salaries would have to be compensated by the other teams - so that we could afford Lebron James when he comes to his contract year.

I don't think Minnesota would ever do this trade. But as a Rocket, I would do it in a heartbeat. KG is one of the five best players in the league right now, so of course you'd do it and try to win championships for the next four or five years.

Yao for KG? That's a tough call. A KG/TMac duo would be ridiculous, but like other posters are saying: KG will be 29 pretty soon while Yao is only 24.

KG has been in the league for quite some time while this is only Yao's 3rd season. At the end, I would say no, because Yao's upside is too much to give up.

I think this could make sense to both Houston and Timberwolves. Houston gets a shot at immediate championships, in the plural. Timberwolves get to rebuild. It is beneficial for both parties and about fair.

It is not like minnesota is going anywhere at the moment.

I think the main reason it wouldnt happen is because I cant see what is in it for Yao. You may trade JJ against his will but Yao is a different matter.

looks everyweek has a YAO trade ideal. Never can be stopped. we better put Yao on Ebay, see what other team offer. Then we can put this to an end. Relax, you wouldnt loss. We always can use that reserve not met.:D
