http://www.nba.com/history/uniforms_rockets.html im sure this is a repost but...whats up with this? Big Statement In 1992, the Rockets selected China's Yao Ming with the No. 1 overall pick, to team with guard Steve Francis. The following year, Houston dropped blue from the team's official colors and redesigned its uniforms. The club would again wear white at home Didn't know rockets had yao in 92' w/ Steve Francis sorry i had to point this error out but.. last time i found an error it was a picture on Rockets.com quote "T-Mac with the game winning shot against the Spurs" (though we haven't played the spurs yet and the quote was meant for the 76ers game, results for the spurs game was t-macs comeback ) i wonder what will happen next
i want to know what is up with hakeems legs! one is white and the other looks like the size of an 8year old
i hope our alternate jersey looks something like this years throwbacks. it should definitley say houston on it. and i guess the main color would be grey with red numbers and letters.
He looks the same to me. It's the pics from when he wore the dildo jerseys that you can really tell the difference. Though at one point I thought he had gained some muscle but I think he's regressed a little bit. That boy needs to eat more protein to keep his muscle!!
Guys, T-Mac has #1 selling jersey in the NBA! I guess those retros must have been really liked by the fans. Houston is gaining tons of attention/outside fans from their televised games on national-TV, and because they are winning more often now. But T-Mac and Yao are doing miracles for us I guess revenue-wise and stuff, since we are in the top 3-4 teams in the league in that aspect. I am proud of wearing my Houston uniform more than ever before now man! H-Town baby Here is the article, check it out... http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp...y?coll=la-headlines-sports&ctrack=1&cset=true Sales of Bryant Jersey Not Nearly as Bad as Thought By Mike Bresnahan, Times Staff Writer Sales of Kobe Bryant's jersey increased during the holiday season, but the overall popularity of Laker jerseys fell, according to sales at the NBA store in New York City and the NBA store on NBA.com. Bryant was No. 7 in jersey sales at the end of the 2003-04 basketball season, but he moved up to No. 6 during the six weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. A Florida market-research firm said last month that Bryant's jersey finished December at No. 72, a number disputed by the NBA. As a team, the Lakers fell from No. 1 in jersey sales during the 2003-04 basketball season to No. 8 during the holiday season. No other Laker besides Bryant was among the top 25 in jersey sales. The New York Knicks, Miami Heat and Houston Rockets led all teams in overall jersey sales. Individually, Houston guard Tracy McGrady was No. 1 in sales, Miami center Shaquille O'Neal was No. 2 and New York guard Stephon Marbury was No. 3. Denver forward Carmelo Anthony and Cleveland guard LeBron James were fourth and fifth on the list.
new york has always been up there...they have fans all over the world. Just like the lakers have always had...not the Rockets are getting more and more exposure so sales have been going up.
I think it has nothing whatsoever to do with players. The bottom line is NYC and LA are the biggest media markets in the US, if not the world. So this is really always the case regardless of how they are doing/who they have. It is just common sense, they are the 2 biggest markets by far for anything, basketball or otherwise.
You know, when I look at those pictures of the unis and the players in the pictures, I understand how fortunate Rockets fans are and have been throughout the decades. We have ALWAYS had top talent and a competitive team. Look at all those players in unis (and there are much more of course), from Barkley, to Hakeem, to Pippen, to Drexler, to T-Mac, to SF, to Calvin Murphy, to Rudy T, to Sampson, to Moses Malone, etc. Now seriously, how many teams in the post three decades can boast of players that rival what the Rockets have had all this time? Lakers is the only team that really comes to mind. I think that is why our expectations as fans of the Rockets have been so high, and why we demand so much, because we have been spoiled for all these years people, we really have. Now T-Mac and Yao will continue on spoiling us
I dont think in the recent decade the Celtics really had great players...i mean Paul Pierce is good but not on some of the level of players were talking about here.
Yes I have, and no they are not in the same category as the Lakers and Houston. The Celts have had a horoendous squad for the better part of the 90s and through this day. So they don't qualify. I meant teams that have had top-notch talent CONSISTENTLY all the time, and not stink for over a decade in a row. The Lakers and Rockets fit that bill.
Bird McHale Parish Havlicek Cowens Russell Cousy The Celtics and the Lakers still rule, unfortunately.
