This sucks....... I fell asleep on my girlfriends couch and when I woke up to drive home this morning I noticed a few things missing from my 4Runner..... My back windshield wiper was completely ripped off Texas Tech alumni sticker removed Texas Tech aluminum logo removed License plate stolen. I can only assume 2 culprits at this point: 1. Somebody who REALLY hates Texas Tech or 2. My girlfriends ex-husband (she is recently divorced) I cant imagine her ex doing something like that, but in the same sense it wouldnt surprise me. He is a loose cannon and was obviously not happy with the divorce in the first place. For obvious reasons he doesnt like me either, but would he be that dumb to do something like that knowing that he would be the obvious culprit?
Damn, that sucks. Sounds to me like it was either someone that knew you, or was the ex just trying to piss you off. If it was just some random person vandalizing you then you'd think they would go after your stereo or something more valuable. And stealing your license plate, wtf?
You're probably right on the two options of who it might be, because if they were breaking in for a reason other than to piss you off, they would have taken your stereo or something. That really sucks man, I hope the culprit gets what's coming to him.
You're lucky that's all the damage they did. No slashed tires, no broken windows is a good thing. I took all my college crap off the back of my vehicle a while back, since nothing good can come of you having that stuff back there. I didn't want to be over in the 3rd ward for a football game at UH and have some of the locals vandalize any of the clearly marked Rice vehicles. No thanks. Same thing goes for the whole political bumper sticker crap. People are just asking for trouble with those things. It had to have been the ex. Why would anybody else do something like that, unless they were just drunk out of their mind and being stupid.
That sucks man. Where's Vincent Vega when you need him? I have to agree with bigtexxx. I've had too many friends have their "Horns sawed off" or have someone write "Sux" after Bush's name, etc. I have a Texas State Alumni sticker on my truck, but that's just because I doubt anyone hates the Bobcats that much to ever mess with my truck. I've never put a political sticker on my car, but Major has before. When he got in an extremely minor fender bender (not even $200 in damage), the lady insisted on calling the cops and getting the insurance companies involved because of a political sticker on his car. That's not speculation either, that was straight from her mouth.
My Mum recently had her car stuffed around with. She parked it outside a family members house over night. The next day wehn she went back to get it, some little b*$tard had spilled soft drink all over it and tryed to set the roof on fire. The stupid thing was, what they did was so weak....they must have crapped themselves when the fire started because it was hardly burned at all...but with the soot and everything, it needed to be sent to the shop to be fixed. Anyway, it was fixed, it now looks new again. But still, a pain in the backside for no reason.
the way i see it, if its #1, if someone does stuff like that just cause they hate the school, pity them because they won't have a pleasant life living with such pettyness. People who do stuff like that usually don't feel good about themselves anyway. if it's #2, then its a small price to pay from someone who is obviously upset. however if its reoccuring and it becomes obvious that its him, there's this thing called a restraining order. doesn't get your stuff back, but then its just stuff.
The other day when I was at Lowes, someone stuck a wad of gum on my Rockets logo sticker on the back windshield of my truck. Man, I was PISSED.
It could be someone from Colorado. They were the last to lose. You would think that they would scratch Buffalos or something. Perhaps it was her ex wanting you to believe that it was somebody from Colorado. Someone tried to vandalize my truck years ago. I parked it in the street and as someone was driving by they attempted to chuck a can of strawberry soda through the driver side window. It didn't penetrate the window, but took out the side view mirror (20 bucks). F-n punks.
"Hmmm... gotta be someone from Texas Untech... or is it Non-Tech... or maybe Dis-Tech...? Darn it, Lou, did you take my Dictionary?" - CHief WiGgum (something he would say) Ummm... what flavor was it...?
How dumb is it? What would you do about it if you knew it was him? How would you know for sure that it was? And, if it was him, that probably means he's watching his ex's house at night. Such obsessive behavior might be a bad indicator for you.
back in my days at Pendleton we had a guy who caught some dirty teenager defacing his truck specifically the semper fi sticker on the rear bumber. good Old Irwin, he executed a takedown karate whirling dervish manuvre (spelling sux sorry) and the dumbass kid was stunned. Not quite as suprised as when Irwin took out his utility knife and cut off the kid's hair, haha!
Actually, Texas Tech was mentioned in a Simpson's episode. Anyone remember which one? I've had a Tech Alum sticker on every car I've had. Never had anyone defile it. I did have the back windshield broken out of my Z in 95. Man, that was expensive to replace, and they never got all the shards out, either.
And I only really remember that because of a friend of mine who went to school there mentioned it to me after it originally aired. It has always stuck in my head. Now it was brought up here. Weird. Plate of Shrimp...
Dude, I'm assuming you're referencing the CU-TT basketball game. I think it's safe that it's not a CU fan, because there are only about 5 of us that follow CU basketball, and we're all here in Boulder. Sorry.
