Well apparently, Bodog.com has swept through my fraternity, and now everyone is hooked on playing poker and placing bets on games. Has or does anyone else do this? I'm hesitant because I know I'll get hooked on betting on NBA games.. but I think I'd be alright Before I signed up I was just wondering if any of you guys have better sites or recommendations with this kind of stuff.. don't really want to jump right in and be in the hole.
I have been playing online for a while, but it is really a rip off, especially poker as all the people at your table could be sitting in one room playing against you. Sports betting on the other hand is legit and fun. DD
Anyone who plays poker online for money is an idiot. WTF are you doing playing poker if YOU CANT SEE THE OTHER PLAYERS! How do you know that the online gambling outfit isnt using bots?
If you've somehow accumulated 3 months worth of rent money playing poker online then you are touched by God my friend. You are the first person I have come across to win jack of any significance doing so. The use of bots to screw over online players is well known - these places all end up coming out ahead of you in the end.
There is someone else on this site who said they paid their tuition last semester playing online. If you play smart poker, you're going to win.
I only wager on sports online. The chance to get taken at poker is just too great to be ignored. I've taken my $100 bank roll and it's now up to $153.
Make it two. I've made about $1,300 last year playing online poker. Mostly, $10 sit-and-go's, but the cash isn't coming in like it used to. More people are learning how to play and there are a lot less chumps out there.
You don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. The major poker sites are CASH COWS, some are even publicly traded companies in England. Eventually these websites would be found out and stand to lose a LOT more than they would make by scamming a few random, low limit players. There are over sixty thousand people playing online at the ONE poker website I use at times. The money they make is insane. What evidence are you going off of when you say it is "well known" that bots are used to scam poker players?
I think scam or bot is not something you have to worry about if you're playing at legit, and popular approved site like poker star, or whatver. I don't play poker. Oh well, back to my story. I'm a gambler, yes, a gambler. So, last week, I don't have any money, so I decide to return my college book back to get the refund, so I could have 80 bucks to buy stuff or maybe gamble. Ok, so I spent 40 bucks, and then I have 40 left, and went to the casino, and wa....................I won 300 bucks, buy I keep playing, and I lost back to them, and I was down to 50, and I keep playing, and then in the end, I walk out with the total of 375 bucks. So, one day after, I went to the casino again, ok, no more description, I won 200 bucks again. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU. BTW, don't be jealous because you just don't know how much I lose before.
I doubt there is a scam going on. With the poker craze as heated as it is, I would think that there are millions playing everyday. There are enough losers in those games to turn an honest buck without bots. Now I am thinking of putting 105 down on the Super Bowl, but that 7.5 is a big number, especially seeing how the past two Pats wins were only by 3.
The poker sites have nothing to gain if you lose all your money. They make their money by raking the pot. They could care less whether you win or lose (unless they are cheating by having people or bots play on the poker sites behalf - not likely as they have way too much to lose). If you played on line and lost all your money and never came back the site would actually lose money. They need you to keep playing so they can keep raking the pot.
I stand corrected apparently. Didn't know there were this many legit sites/tournies online. The hardcore gamblers I know who have ventured into online card games have gotten their asses handed to them. These are guys who dominate "live" events. The bot phenomenon, and other cheats, has has been widely reported/alleged, so I'm not pulling this outta my ass. Here's a couple of articles: Link 1 Link 2 Maybe I should give it a try myself, but I am wary of putting $ down in a poker game where you can't see the dealer & players, much less know 100% if you're even playing a human - but that's just me. So which site is the most reputable?
Then take the 7.5 pts. That is a good number as most books are reluctant to go above 7. The theory being that if the Pats win by 7, the books will have to pay anyone who got in at 6.5, plus pay the push at 7. Get in at 7.5. The Eagles will put up a good game.
Online poker is for real. If you play your cards right there are still enough suckers out there to get paid-off. I play at PartyPoker pretty regular and have had real good success. Up about $2000 over the past 6 months.
