Are the Memphis Grizzlies the hottest (or one of the hottest) teams in the West now?

Tonight they beat the Phoenix Suns and they have just been winning non stop lately. I keep wanting them to loose because they are in competition with the Rockets for one of the playoff spots in the west but they just keep winning. The weird thing is that they are winning (and beating good teams) without Pau Gasol and James Posey...

I thought they would loose for sure tonight against the Suns (it was a back to back game for Memphis)

How do they do it

On EPSN they are showing Nash got thrown out of the game with 3 mins left in the game.

Yea, this really scares me...I mean without paul and James? I hope its a fluke and that they will go on a loosing streak. Look at the bright side, the T-wolves lost 2 in a row and we gain back the 8th spot.

They just match up well against a team like Phoenix. It is not a fluke per se.

Yeah. It looks like the Wolves just arent going to have it this year.
And the Lakers, I expect them to drop out.
So that makes room for Denver who is coming on strong with a new energy since Karl was named coach, and of course the Rockets who just look to have that special something through and through that makes them a playoff team.

Denver has a long way to go.... they are pretty far back. I'd be surprised to see them make it....

I HOPE the Lakers will drop out - the question is: when??? They don't seem to be falling anytime soon, and they have players to return from injury in a little while.

Amazing that a team like Memphis can beat the Suns without almost a legit starting 5 on the injured list with Gasol, Posey, Wells and Watson. Just goes to show you the depth that this team has. If there is any team in the NBA that can withstand injuries it is this team.

I think Memphis looks solid for the #6 seed in the West. And I think they would match up favorabily with the Sonics at the #3 seed.

The Grizz are playing "team" basketball these days with Pau out of the lineup. Everyone is contributing because the offense isn't dependent on Pau. Last night Burks and Jones were on fire especially towards the end of the game. Stro's electrifying plays kept the crowd in the game and when Nash was ejected it was all over for the Suns. Anyone catch Stro's block in the final minute of the game? All I can say is WOW!

The Grizz have a lot of "high energy" players and a lot of "scrappy" players. Players like Swift, Battier, Cardinal, Posey. Then mix those guys in with scorers like Gasol, Miller and Wells and a decent PG in Williams. And their young guys like Burks and Jones seem to be playing well too. Just a lof of talent on that team.

watson would be a nice replacement for sura next season if sura's health wont hold up. It'll be hard to get swift but he's da ideal pf we need.

Atlanta is said to be very interested in Earl Watson. I think if the Rockets cant get Swift with the MLE you might see the Rockets use the MLE on a PG. They could be looking at Antonio Daniels, Jeff McInnis and Earl Watson to name a few.

Even though Sura is playing well for us, we still need another "true" PG on the team. Sura off the bench as an energy 6th man would be ideal for our team.
