Some comedy requires context, so for Bill Hicks maybe you had to hear it the first time when it was current. Old Richard Pryor is like that. Like, why are those guys so pissed off? Well for one, at that time we Americans were more internally focused, we looked at just the US and wondered why things weren't better. Now with a more global focus, conditions in the US look pretty good. Also, some of what they have to say that was cuttung edge and shocking then is passe' now. What they might have been arrested for saying at an after hours club then, you might hear in a rap song at a Junior High dance today.
Carrot top is actually a bit underrated. Most female comics seem to be terrible for some reason. I dunno why.
I think Pauly Shore is too. I've heard him on XM Comedy a few times and he's been pretty damn funny. Some bit about his girlfriend's cat was hysterical. Yeah, I agree.
yeah, i think carrot top and sinbad get hated on too much. sinbad had a few hbo specials back in the day that i thought were hilarious and still laugh at now. now galagher, he was really funny when i was a kid and now i can't believe people filled up theater's to see him. still gotta give him credit for sledg-o-matic. good gimmick. wanda sykes has a great comedy central presents. and what's this robin williams stuff? his role as the genie in aladdin was pure genius and i really like his last special (i assume that's his latest). his bit on golf is awesome. i was practically crying when he finished that part. gotta agree with cho, di paolo, leary (sometimes funny but not much), miller, quinn (a lof of the time unfunny though he'll often made some side comment under his breath that's funnier than the joke but the audience doesn't really hear it and react, that's probably his best stuff), and PhiSlammaJamma. you're looking for the bad basketball players thread. j/k

I seldom ever laugh when - A fat comedian makes fat jokes A comedian makes fun of their own race Women performing the skank act comedy, especially when there are few hot comedians. quinn sucks wanda sykes is horrible cho is average the only standups i watch any more are Mitch Hedberg and Eddie Izzard. I like watching ray ramano's comedy with my girlfriend.
Jay Leno I dont know how he ever got his own show. Jay Mohr as well. Seriously blows...he's much better as a prick in Jerry Maguire.

hehe....I think that was a swipe at AB...but he screwed up.... it's Billy D something....(Washington) hmm....lots of bad comics...mainly ones already mentioned.. Kathy Griffin? and I dont understand how someone doesnt find Carlin or Hicks funny.....new Robin Williams isnt as funny as he can be...but his old stuff ROCKS..
