All this thread is purely hypothetical, and probably meaningless. It's all for fun. If you are interested, please come in and discuss. If not, that fine too.

If T-Mac is at it again and trying to force a trade, and Utah and Pheonix express interests, and offer AK47 and Amare Stoudamire respectively, who would you take?

In another word, if Yao Ming is the only player we can build around, who would you put by his side? The offensive mammoth or the defensive demon?

One on one, you think AK can shut down Amare? That'd be an awesome match up to watch. Here are some of the over/unders:

    Amare's dunks vs AK's blocks
    Amare's points vs AK's points
    Amare's height (6'11) vs AK's height (6'9 plus mohawk)

If Amare plays with Yao, how many shots per game do you think Yao will get? I'm guessing 9.

Amare is not nearly as good as he is now without a good PG. On the other hand, AK would be the perfect fit on this team, he don't have to have the ball to be effective, and JVG would love him to death because of AK's defense.

I would prefer Kirilenko too. Amare is a nice finisher. But I think a bulldozer type of enforcer who rebounds well and plays tough defense, give hard fouls to send the other teams a message if they play dirty and doesn't need the ball to be effective would be a better compliment to Yao. Looking back, Cato was pretty close to it. :)

But why are we even discussing this? T-mac is not going to leave. He will be one of the two cornstones of this Rockets team which will win at least three of the next ten NBA championships. :D

The only way TMAC would demand a trade is if Yao were to leave. So, with no Yao, and no TMAC, who would be the best then?

Neither. Only way I trade McGrady is if Lebron or Duncan is involved. Since neither is getting moved, ever, Tracy's staying put. He's under contract for a long time, so he'd have to suck it up and play.

If I HAD to pull the trigger on one of these deals, I'd go for Kirilenko -- but I'd also demand the following:

    * They send the following year's an unprotected #1.
    * They take MoT and Spoon along with TMac.
    * They wash and wax my car for a year.

I'm not sure that works, salary-wise, and I'm too lazy too check. Doesn't matter, since this is hypothetical anyway. ;)

Why not a poll on the chances of every member of the BBS being hit by space junk next tuesday. How really meaningful is this? Didn't TMac sign a long term contract with the Rockets?

This is NOT meaningful at all, as I suggested when I started the thread. Thank you!

Yes you did, and I am in sarcastic mood. It is cloudy, drizzley, and I'm irritable. I am going to stop posting for awhile before I annoy other members. ;)

amare would never let yao develope into a go-to post player. ak is the perfect fit at foward (either foward) for yao.

Amare is quite overrated IMHO. AK47 will take him most of the time. If Amare ever gets to be double team like Yao did, and no good passing from Nash, he'll be lot less effective.

    Amare of course.
I'm sure the Rockets could spend all that money they invested in Tracy and get alot more for it. And get players without taking so many damn shots a game.

    1. Brand
    2. Nash
    3. Marion
    4. James
    5. Allen

Anybody that beleives in the team concept.
