i dont know if anybody noticed, but when the Rockets beat the Spurs, he said "we were already wrapping this game up as if WE already won". I thought he was an ass for saying that.

I just check out R2K's Rox Greatest Comeback vid and it is hilarious how Kerr goes "Nooo" on the last T-Mac trey. Hilarious!

Kerr was actually saying "we had to stay" and not "we had this game" as previously alleged.

Anyone remember Kerr's Chinaman comment? He was comparing it to calling Rik Smits the "Dutchman".

Steve Kerr is an OK announcer. He annoys me at times (yes he is a big homer), but I can live with it for the most part. He's still better than anyone that ESPN has.

The Spurs are really, really, good! I admire their play, but, for some reason, they are not that fun to watch. I start switching channels. Manu G. is just an outstanding player, very exciting. And as I have said for years (I used to get savaged for this comment), Parker is a better PG that Francis will ever be. He has eyes in the back of his head. As I recall, he had almost ten assists in the first half.

Actually i enjoy watching the Spurs play. They have a great passing team with young exciting players. A team that is blowing people must be doing it by more than defense. They are averaging over 10 point differential. I really think that the rockets are sometimes difficult to watch. Especially against bad teams.

They are so much better this year, remember last year when they cover the Lakers? They won't get their mouth off Kobe's @ss.

I remember when Kobe did a simple cross over, and Marv will yell out "OH!! KOOOOOOOOOOOOBE!! WHAT A MOVE!!!!!!!!". And then when Steve cross over 3 people and dunk on some Lakers players, Marv just said "and Francis dunk on the other end" then go back to kissing Kobe's butt.

I have that game Tivo'd. There is no "n" before the "ohhhhhhh!"

Get over it, people, the Spurs are good at basketball.

Kelly, you need to get over it. This thread is not about how good the spurs are. This thread is how Kerr sucks Pop's nuts. He is homer and doesn't have anything to say except how the spurs do this or that or Pop would do this or that. Its almost like he doesn't know anything else but the spurs. He sucks as a commentator and provides no insight what so ever.

I've always thought Kerr was pretty straight forward in his support for the Spurs. He played there for years, w/many of the players still on the team & won 2 rings there. I don't mind his homerism, it is what it is. It isn't irrational or delusional. It isn't the type of homerism where he wants ridiculous calls in the Spurs favor or isn't respectful of other teams. I've never seen him do that & that is the truly anoying type of homerism.

Can't you even be in the same room with a fan of another team? How old are you? Kerr's style is no more offensive than just watching the game w/a smart friend who understands basketball but happens to route for the other team. Try getting league pass & listen to the extreme irrational homerism of the local color guys. Some of the worst: Tommy Heinsohn (sp?) in Boston & Michael Cage in Memphis.

PJ Carlesimo. Steve Kerr. Sean Elliott. Might as well mute the TV during the game if they are on.

I think Kelly is right. I watched the play just now, and there is no 'n' sound. He either said 'oh' or maybe 'whoa'. What you could clearly hear is Kerr giving Tmac lots of props.

i know you like trying to make points with short, concise posts but it doesn't work when you're wrong. a team being good is no reason to have one of the announcers basically rooting for that team on the air on a national broadcast. slob all over their knobs during a spurs broadcast for all i care, but when it's national tv, try to hide it a little for dignity's sake.

Even though i usually like listening to Charles on the halftime TNT show, I hate it when he starts to kiss Ginobli's ass. after their last game he even said that ginobli should be in the All-star game.

heres the article i mentioned earlier, after TWO losses he writes this the same day as the loss to the Rockets

    The NBA's team to beat
    by Steve Kerr, Yahoo! Sports
    December 9, 2004

HOUSTON – On Wednesday in San Antonio, the Seattle SuperSonics ran and shot their way past the San Antonio Spurs for the second time this season. On Thursday in Houston, Tracy McGrady put on an incredible show, scoring 13 points in the final 35 seconds to lead the Houston Rockets to an amazing comeback victory over the Spurs.

Two nights, two bad losses. Gregg Popovich is furious, Tim Duncan is embarrassed and the Spurs fans can't believe it.

Well, they all can relax. Despite the bad spell, San Antonio once again has a great team, and at the one-quarter mark of the season, the Spurs are the favorites to win the NBA championship.

With apologies to Seattle and the Phoenix Suns, who have a better record than San Antonio thus far, the Spurs have the best chance to win the title this season because they're battle-tested, they're deep, they defend, they've won before and they have Duncan...
