Just the heads-up guys, I was flipping through and they will have him in a few minutes now. I am sure the Rockets will come up in the conversation, may be even a few jabs at JVG here and there...
Here is what Steve said... Sally gives him props for bringing the Magic back to being a good team, Steve gives props to Hill Sally tells him how come you are called "Franchise" and yet were traded, just poking fun that is all Asked about Cuttino, he said he it is about more than basketball (Batman & Robin he said) Asked about Yao, Steve said when he was in Houston for the last game, Yao came over to his house to have dinner and they hung out, and he praised him, saying it has been good to play with someone who has touched so many people. Says his english is a lot better, and is fluent. And that Tom Arnold should have him on the show some time. Steve says he will probably head down to Jacksonville for the Superbowl, and joked about calling Tom Arnold and Jeff Van Gundy to tell them he will be there if he decides to go. That is about it...
Yah, sorry guys, I just found it while flipping through the TV, so did not have knowledge in advance to let everyone know.
Steve said that when he came to Houston, Yao went over to his house and had dinner. Tom Arnold made a joke and asked Steve if Yao brought the short little guy always hanging around Yao. Steve corrected him and said that was Yao's interpreter. Steve said that Yao has come along way on his English and they should have him on the show. Tom Arnold asked him if he was going to the Super Bowl. Steve said Jacksonville was only 30 minutes away from Orland and he and his teamates are thinking of chartering a plain to go down there. Tom Arnold told him to call him if he goes down there so they can Party together. Steve said he would call Him, Jeff Van Gundy, everybody, and invite them. It was kinda funny.
You know, props to Steve Francis. Really. No more "Steve-O" bashing, no more dribble-mania cracks, no more And-1 references- please. I feel fortunate to have had him on the Rockets, and if it wasn't for getting a player the caliber of McGrady, I would have excoriated the Rockets for even thinking of getting rid of this guy. Steve Francis: True Rockets fans wish you the best.
Ya know looking back at my previous steve hatin'.... i was definately wrong. The kid's got heart, can't deny that, nobody can. He really is missed in Houston, and I just hope he knows that.
I like him a lot, but some of his comments are kind of immature. As a ball player, he is supremely talented, but not enough of a team player.
Man some of ya'lls opinions change more than a woman on PMS.... Anyway, good to see Steve having fun on TV..
I wish him the best, too. I don't miss him on the court though. The Magic game here last week was a solid and sobering reminder of the "Franchise" that played here for 5 years.
I asked this in a different forum but nobody responded. Anyone know what happened to the rest of the cast on the Best Damn Sports Show? I only see Tom Arnold and John Salley now. What happened to the rest of the guys?
I don't know about the "Best Damn" crew, but the show has gotten worse since the other two guy left. I like the roundtable-style discussion of sports a bit more than this Jay Leno format. But with tha being said, Chris Rose (the previous host) was on the FSN network hosting a "poker" show, so may be he just moved on to doing something else. It could have been a cost-cutting move as well, I am not so sure though. I would have kept Rose and fired Sally, although Rose might have left on his own. Either way, the show is not as much fun as before, but it is down to a more sensable 1-hour program now, which I at least can manage to watch. I think they said they will have Patrick Ewing (or someone else) on the show on Friday, so watch for that too...
I think I read somewhere that Chris Rose is going to do NFL Europe and then eventually try to become a NFL guy.
