My brother calls me last night around 10pm from outside KMart on the cell saying KMart has 20 of the new Playstation 2 consoles and there already was a line outside the store to buy them at 8am this morning. Circuit City, Best Buy, Target ... they already had anywhere from 50-150 people outside camping out for the thing but for some reason KMart was ignored. I figured what the hell.... so headed over there to stake a place in line, thinking I'd leave eventually. But of course I didn't want to pull out once I got there -- last night I pulled the all night campout (if you could call it that -- I never slept) outside KMart. Damn it was a long night... we laid out in reclining lawn chairs and watched DVDs on a laptop ("The Shining" at 3am has a nice effect). Place was packed but only the first 18 people knew they were getting them. They had to turn away flocks of people this morning... Anyhow, scooped up the new console just after 8am this morning, had time to just drop it off at home and am now at work. Exhausted. Not sure what I'm going to do with it.... my bro picked up one also (and managed to call me to say Madden's 2001 is unbelievable) and we generally play head to head games against one another, thus we really only need the one. So I think I'm going to sell it on EBay (I see one going for $1300 -- yikes!) I'm just going to wait it out plus NBA Live 2001 doesn't come out until mid January and that is the game I want. Plus my UT/A&M tickets haven't come in yet. I will put those on Ebay as soon as I can. I thought about getting one from where I work. Thing is my upper management said they could get me several since our company was not taking pre-orders. I passed it up, however. I should have probably bought a few and sold them on E-bay but....oh well. Probably too late now. I would rather have a new computer, anyway, which I'm holding out for the AMD/DDR SDRAM solution. I believe all the bids are displayed at the close of the auction. I think opa-opa was just placing fake bids....I doubt he/she would have actually paid that amount of $$$ had he/she actually won the auction. I agree Pimp, I kinda doubt that montana131 (the high bidder) will actually pay that outrageous sum of money to the seller. ------------------

I just read a PSX2 press release. Sony will make 100,000 units available each week in the U.S. through the holiday season. If you didn't get one last night/this morning then wait a week or two. It's not going to hurt. ------------------
Don't get one! I have one and it is pretty ****ty. Madden looks pretty good, but it is full of money plays, bad AI and you feel as if the players are on skates. It sucks, badly. Grab a dreamcast, and some of the on-line sports games. NBA2K1 is outt next tuesday and it is ONLINE! You guys can start a CC leauge. ------------------
