Jon Barry: A great shooter, very effective beyongd the arc, passes the ball well, high basketball IQ Bob Sura: very enerrgetic, a true warrior, a triple-double waiting to happen David Wesley: can shoot and penetrate, always a scoring threat, excellent defense others: Andre Barett, Rod strickland, Charlie Ward
Bopb sura, no contest! he has been fantatstic! He looked ike Nash dribblign through the paint against he magic in the last 2 magic games. Wesley....naw. Not yet. Shooting 37% is better than shooting 33% like h3e was before. But sthilll, that is horrible. And Barry, well he has been the man as of lately. But no sura that is for sure. Sura has been the x factor! Go Yao, Go TMAC,. go SURA! WHOOP!
I don't think this is all time. if so, I wouldn't have picked Sura. It think the creator meant out of hte current Rockets.
I really don't like any of our guards longterm. Sura is playing great but I doubt he can keep this up. He is older and has a bum knee and this is the best he has or will ever play. Wesley is still shooting bricks for the season and Barry will always be a bench player that can shoot the three. We will have to replace all of them by the end of next year.
With Sura playing the point for us he has been like a poor man's J-Kidd. While certainly not half of the playmaker J-Kidd is, he still plays solid night in & night out giving us a little bit of everything. Kind of hard not to choose him for this topic.
I heard a rumor that next year, after he gets a little more "seasoning", JVG will be inviting Calvin Murphy back.
I don't really like any of them. I mean, I like all of them since they're Rockets. And basketball skillwise, there's something to like. But, I don't know anything about any of them. They're strangers to me. That's true of pretty much the whole roster now. Hopefully, we can re-establish some continuity soon and keep the same group of guys for awhile.
Don't you get that it's not humorous any more? Gee, and who's on first? I don't understand some individuals' obsession with negativity. Honestly, in the way you are posting here, I'd have to say you are Jeff Van Gundy himself. Who else would be that negative all the time towards him? Listen, Jeff, we know you like to be self-deprecating, but enough is enough!
I voted for sura. You just gotta love the intensity he brings every night. Add in that he was playing injured and you really see the type of mentality he has. He truly WANTS to be on the court, going for loose balls, driving in the lane. The man has no fear. I just hope his knee can hold up until we can find a younger long term replacement (who i wouldn't really mind being a Sura clone with a better 3 point shot).
Sam Cassell. Sam I Am He played great for the rockets in his rookie year and the one after his rookie year He helped the rockets win the 2 championships. I loved his play.
Matt Maloney...............................................J/K I like Sura, I feel more comfortable when he is in the game running the point. I like the toughness he brings.
Wesley's shot should come back.Beside's he's making good decisions with the ball, and playing good defense. He definitely provides a measure of consistency. I'd have to say Wesley might give us more than any of the others, but not by much. Sura's playing very well,as a 2 playing the 1,for now.I'm not so sure if he's got much more upside, but that's OK.He's solid. Barry is a great role player for a title team. Overall, the chemistry is great. Let the good times roll.
It's just so sad we are picking our favorite backcourt player from a group of career bench players, except Wesley.
Although I like Barry a lot, I still have to go with Sura. He's a poor man's Francis but takes care of ball a little better.
