I was wondering if anyone knows of any good locations to look for watches with good prices in Houston. Im mostly looking for a Tag. But am open to suggestions.
Zadoks.... they have a pretty wide selection, anything from Movado to Tag to Cartier. Zadok is a good family friend of ours, so that's where i got my Baume & Mercier watch. They also sell pieces from LeCoultre and Patek Phillipe.
You can likely find a good deal on Ebay so long as your are careful on who the seller is. Though if the prices are close you are probably better off sticking with a local dealer.
check out jared, they have a pretty good selection. your best bet though is to shop at numerous locations to find the best deal.
yeah your probably right, but i have such a hard time pulling the trigger on buys from bigger purchaces on ebay. and thanks for the help with the other locations. i think i might do a little research on watch brands to.
So what's the deal with expensive watches? You know, you can go to Walmart and get one that keeps perfect time for $4.95. Or upgrade to the deluxe model for about $50. I asking because I don't understand.
Everyday I get an email from a Susan Taylor who seems to really understand my love of Swiss and Rolex watches. I can forward her email to you and, I bet if you tell her you know me, she'll hook you up.
if you are wanting a watch or some other time keeping device for only that, then you are best suited looking at your cell phone for the time. these watches for the most part are multi-purpose. check out this one by tissot - http://www.spotstop.com/default.asp?newsID=64
In my neighborhood, we have a pretty good watch. Actually, it's just some old ladies, but I have seen better neighborhood watches, like an old man riding a 75 Cutlass Supreme with the words "Citizens On Patrol" on the side.
My old cell phone had an option to auto-update the time but my newer one makes no reference to it. Didi that become just a standard op?
I have a Tag and its the best watch ever! The biggest differance between a nice watch and a Fossil or other <$500 watch is the crystal. Tag's have a saphire cyrstal ( I hear the only thing that can scratch it is a diamond) and the watch is almost indistructible. I got a great deal on mine, a buddy of mine's girlfriend works at BailyBanks and Biddle and got the watch for cost.
Watches are jewelry for men and a status symbol. I also use my cell phone and usually don't wear a watch. The only place I'd like to have a watch is on the plane but I don't like to the idea of bringing a watch because it's one more thing to take off at the security checkpoint.
I guess i just love the beauty of a nice looking, finely made watch. Depends what your looking at getting. Zadok's is a great store, but you have to learn one thing: EVERYTHING IS NEGOTIABLE. I bought a Bvlgari there last year and got almost 35% off the price of the watch. Tell them you can get it from an authorized dealer online cheaper and they'll lower it to be close or match it. I bought a Cartier Santos at Bailey, Biddle and Banks, but they're more of a corporation and won't budge as much. It also depends on the brand as Cartier doesn't allow too much discounting and has stores actually record all their prices and send them confirmation of them. My next purchase is either the Cartier Roadster Chronograph or a Audemars Titanium. I really don't like Tag's, though I love the large Squre Monaco Chronograph series with the black leather strap.
well said. my parents bought my Baume & Mercier at Zadoks. nice watch, good for my daily use and nothing that my folks or I would flip over if it got broken or lost. my dad also gave me his Krieger watch that i love, although i really have no idea how valuable it is. Zadok himself said it was a very nice watch, but i've also been told that Kriegers aren't all that nice. regardless, i like it. My next watch purchase will probably be a Breitling Navitimer Chrono, but I'm probably a few years away from that. or maybe a Rolex Submariner. there are so many quality watch manufacturers, like Auedemars, Breuget, Langhe, etc. that i plan on purchasing throughout my lifetime. i've recently become a fan of quality wristwear, and appreciate fine watchmaking (i sound like a 50 year old man).
just wanted to say thanks. I picked up a Tag Link Series at Zadoks today. I think ill be very happy with this purchase for a long time. i never usually buy anything nice for my self and for some reason i decided the other day that i wanted a nicer watch then my recently cracked fossil.
Ashford.com which is based in houston I believe. They have pretty fair prices. If Sam's club or Costco carries it, they would have good prices also. edit: Didn't see the last post.
