if they simply put a picture of Mia Sara circa 1986 on the screen for halftime i'd watch the entire thing.
i'm pretty sure i just saw a commercial for some sort of girls gone wild halftime PPV. not exactly sure what they're gonna do outside of just flashing people but i saw something on it. i don't know about last year but i think i read the aerosmith, britney, nelly, etc halftime show was the first one where more people watched halftime than the game. that could've been a lie but i saw it somewhere.
are you kidding me? this is paul freaking mcartney not some scrub mtv hack. heard of the beatles? i understand the thought that it should be a harder rocking show and i actually agree with you, but could have done better will ALWAYS be the wrong choice of words when getting mcartney. something tells me people aren't changing the channel and certainly if you have the opportunity to watch a living legend live at the number one sports event of the year, you don't go buy some peanuts.
Paul McCartney trumps Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake/Kid Schlock/P Diddleydick any day of the week. It's the difference between actual talent and PR driven, lip-synching assclowns. Alex, I choose talent for $200.
As much as I love Paul M, I would much rather see Ashley Simpson crap all over herself on live TV again. Now, that's entertainment!
What are some of the best (free) candidates for "alternate half-time viewing" ? The best I ever saw as the "In Living Color" halftime show from years ago. I know there are PPV choices like the lingerie bowl and the Girls-gone-wild PPV show, but I'm not paying a dime. -- droxford
I'll take a real artist like McCartney anyday. I prefer when they get real artists to perform not the media hype crap that MTV spews out. I enjoyed John Mellencamp doing the halftime show of the Lions Thanksgiving game this year. The show could have young artists, just get real artists. John Mayer, Norah Jones or Alicia Keyes. If we ever have to endure the Simpson sisters again, let them just stop them from singing and turn it into a cabaret show.
