There is alot of talk about owners making to much money and the players not getting a fair cut. They both are getting too much money! How about us fans? We're the ones getting screwed making them both rich.

They are now, I'm suggesting that they be included automatically. No player in his right mind wants a team option included in his max contract.

I also mentioned the buyout alternative because I realize the team option idea would be much more difficult to get past the union. They want their money guaranteed. The thought of only 4 years being guaranteed would rile them up. Buyout clauses would meet things in the middle (Kemp and his agent shocked people by agreeing to the buyout in Portland, and the Baker force out in Boston is still on Billy Hunter's mind).

I'm sure black people everywhere are thrilled that you have chosen Spree and Randy Moss as examples. It's like using Jason Williams(of Memphis) as an example of the typical white person.

What about Lebron James? Michael Jordan? Magic Johnson? How about Robert Johnson(the black OWNER of the Bobcats.)

It's not the skin color. It's the behavior.

Why does everyone assume that a young black man that can play basketball comes from a "poor" background?

Look, these players get paid well. Even if the NBA shut down tommorrow....the ones that still neede to work could be a VERY good wage playing basketball in one of the many overseas competitions. More then enough to make a living.

At the end of the day its rich people fighting over money.

    History

This makes for another thread I wanted to start
    maybe i will later
    but
Some of the stories about these athletes and their
lives before the big time are quite compelling

    Like Carlos Rogers
    and
    Dante Culpepper

Some of them went THROUGH SOME THANGS
    before they got their blessings

Sprewell is under contract. He's obligated to play, and yet he stated that he may not feel like doing so. That's what was wrong with his statement and attitude.

NFL has no guaranteed long-term contract. They're the most successful league. Anyone planning to complain about that?
