Some of you might have known that my band, orange is in was playing at the Aeros game tonight. Well, wouldn't you know that for the first time in the history of the franchise, the game was cancelled because their opponent was stuck in a blizzard in Detroit. We got down there, set up, got a slight sound check in, left to eat (walked 20 blocks to find an open place), came back, began to get monitors set up and then were told it was cancelled. They promised us they would hook us up at another game this season. What a b****.
That sucks, Jeff. Hopefully they will keep their word and get you all a new date. I'm glad I live in Austin where it was 60 degrees today.
Blizzards? Maybe maybe no. Last time it snowed in Austin, my car battery died at a gas station on Riverside.
No, but I did see them loading in all their gear and luggage at the loading dock. I was like, "Hey, want to see what T-Mac packs for a road trip?"
That date was changed. Tenatively, we are looking at February 12th, but I'll post here as soon as I know the exact date. Apparently, a UT frat rented the entire club on the 26th and we got moved.
Be sure to let us know when the next one is -- I went down there pretty early and thought that it was pretty sparse because it was still an hour until the start. Tried to go in, and they gave us the bad news.
Jeff, was this a paying gig? Did they give you anything for your time? That really blows. They could have at least told you before the load in and set up that there was a chance of this happening.
No. No. They did tell us that there was snow storm but only that the game would be pushed back from 7:30 to 8pm. They didn't get the word from the league until 4:30.
They really should call all the fans when the game is postponed. Maybe we can get the assistant to the traveling secretary on that.
