The Clippers are an NBA team... Tough call. Maybe a good coach like Rudy T. could bring them to their senses. Maybe not. But... I think the Clips with a good coach would have a good shot at Gold Medal (if you are looking at this year's Clips team). ------------------

Sure they could! They have some good athletes, and there's no reason they couldn't train and go for the gold. Oh, not in basketball, but there are hundreds of Olympic Sports, and surely at least one of the twelve is good at something. The Clippers would, first of all, know each other. This is very much unlike the Dream team, which was a team full of individual stars. The Clippers would have their game plan established, and would so know how to play off each other. In addition, if the Clippers had been selected, they would be going out to prove something. They're laughed at so often, and most people would probably say that they would be blown away in the first round (a bit extreme, but not far off true opinions). This would give added determnination. The Dream Teamers expected easy games, and probably didn't feel like they needed a true game plan. They were surprised. I don't think the Clippers would be. Lastly, it's not like their players are crap. They have some very good athletes, as someone already mentioned, and they picked up a solid player in the draft. The clippers would probably win gold. I'd go so far as to guarantee that any other NBA team would win gold, the clippers is just a tough call because they are so used to losing; they might find themselves in a tough match and just give up. Actually come to think of it, the Bulls from last year wouldn't win a medal. Aside from that, any NBA team could've won the gold. ------------------
