The first Rockets game I remember strongly was a Calvin Murphy/Pete Maravitch duel, when the latter played for the New Orleans Jazz. I got a flashback to that moment this year when T-Mac and Nowitzky, were hitting from the elbow, then the wing, then 3 pt land, then the parking lot, then Ft. Worth, in that one Mavs game. I am a fan of all Houston teams. Rockets, Texans, Astros, Cougars, Owls, Aeros....I even am glad to hear when the Comets win, though I don't care to watch any of their games. I am more a fan of the teams than their componant players, but I will wish a favorite player on a new team well, when he is not playing a Houston team. (I'd just as soon the Magic decimate the Leastern Conference...but if they play the Rockets I want us to blow em out).
Moron, this is the HOUSTON ROCKETS Board. not Yao only fans board. anyone who wishes to see the The rox lose but his Fave player to Succsied iws not a real fan. infact his an houston rockets HATER!
Reread the first page of this thread (carefully this time)- while noticing the difference between wouldn't (would not) and would. Example: That said I wouldn't rather Yao have 30-15 and the Rockets lose than he stink like he did against NJ and the Rockets win. That said I would rather Yao have 30-15 and the Rockets lose than he stink like he did against NJ and the Rockets win. See the difference.
I really feel bad for Yipengzhao, this is the 2nd time in this thread he got insulted by an idiot who doesn't read.
Only 5 T- Mac only fans. I wonder if everyone knows that TOF = T-Mac Only Fans. Surprising I also thought there would have been a lot more Other Fans of Previous Rockets I am COF because I liked the Rockets when Barkley was traded to Houston. Prior to that I was a Phoenix Fan. Now I am just a HOF. I do not really watch much games unless the Rockets are playing. ------------------------------------------------------ Some of you do not like acronyms. WHen I first came on this board some 5 years ago, I never used to like (or use) acronyms either. I felt kind of left behind not knowing what they meant. However, as of recent I have been using them
I've been a Rox fan since I was 6 years old (back when Moses almost got us the big one against the Celts). I have love alot of the players over the years, and love some of them we have now, but with that said, if Yao or Tmac leave the Rox tommorow I am still a Rox fan to the day I die.
When I read that name all I could remember is how happy I was when the Rocket's drafted Robert Horry, becasue it meant no more Buck Johnson. Remember Purvis Short and his "rainbow" shot?
There's no hope, Hayes. People will ask, "What are you??" there as well, and put you in a category of their own making. We just have to put up with it, as best we can. Members are typecast in GARM, in NBA Dish, in Hangout, in D&D... heck, even in the Texans, Astros, Comets forum. Being typecast, and throwing labels on anything, everything, and everyone is the most prevalent here in GARM. You can be a fan of the Rockets from the day they moved to Houston (like yours truly), say something critical about the play of a player, any player, and someone can come up with a "slot" to place you in. You are a "____ only fan," a "hater of ____ fan," or some other ludicrous label. If we could just get rid of the knee-jerk labels around the BBS, in GARM especially, the quality of what we read, and the pleasure of being here, would improve immeasurably. In my opinion, of course. Keep GARM Readable!!
