Strange. Either MoT has a terrible, terrible case of the flu, or JVG hates him so much that he put him on the IL instead of Spoon who is actually injured.

Too bad it seemed like he was finally geting his shooting touch back. Seems odd that he would go on the IL for the flu (till the 28th).

Hopefull this will give let us see what howard can do with the bulk of the minutes. He should have more in him than tonights performace indicated.

See, I know that JVG has made some questionable roster moves in the past, but would he exile our ONLY healthy backup PF (I don't really consider Padgett a PF) just because he can't stand him? Besides, if that was the case, wouldn't this have happened a while back especially when we opened up a roster spot with the JJ/Wesley trade?

Also, not sure if related or not, but I find the extreme interest in signing PGs as of late, interesting as well. I know that Sura has his knee problem but this is what we were told why Barry and Wesley were acquired. They are both SGs but can bring the ball up if needed (ie: Sura has to miss some time). Plus, we have both Barret & Gaines sitting on the bench. So, why the sudden desire to sign a CBA 'scrub' and to work out and, by all indications, sign Rod Strickland in the near future?

I may be looking too much into things, but I have just found these moves to be too odd.

All i have to say is GOOD!

This guy has been a disgrace. He doesn't want to be here. He's not playing like he wants to be here. WE CAN'T GET RID OF HIM:mad:

......so basically seeing him on the IR is enough to calm me down temporarily. At least this means he can't get minutes for a while.

JVG probably does hate Mo - he is a vindictive little man. JVG would go to the media and complain too. Spoon cannot do us any good hurt....

Sura will go down - I hope not because his effort is great, but his knee problem is serious I think.

I agree- why so many shooting guards, then hunting for scrubs at the point??-Stupid...

JVG is a cypher. I really did not like his aquisition of Ward, or trading Jackson, but Mo Taylor could be a decent backup. The Rockets are paying him a lot of money..Use him!

I personally think Mo Taylor will respond more to being treated with Kid gloves, not scorn. Mo seems to get this into his head and will not give the effort if Critisized. Recall Kelvin Cato....

Maybe JVG doesn't want him around the team, getting everyone else sick. Also, the five games will be over in a flash, after which time Spoon's calf will start hurting again.

as a side note. With Mo on IL or gone, Yao's old teammates are all but gone. JVG's mission is complete.

JVG signed a 4 year contract. He has power in his 1st two years, and that power decreases very quickly as he approaches his 3rd year because the financial committment to him will be less after that.

JVG is still purging the team of the Rudy T regime.

JVG cannot let Mo meet SF and Cato twice in one week. Mo's attitude might damage Rockets' fragile chemistry and mental toughness, esp. on Yao.

    Not a bad move.

Didn't Yao just have the flu recently?? If memory serves, he missed 1 game and JVG told him he should play through it like MJ did against Utah. Mo gets the flu and it's off to the IL faster than you can say AH-CHOO!! Hmmm...

Too bad Rudy couldn't get them to do well when they were here (collectively speaking that is).

JVG is afraid that Mo will try to strangle him with the help of SF3 & Cato. There is no way he will risk his life letting Mo play against Cato and SF3.

Yes but they're all playing in different teams and systems.
