Yao might get more shots if he could grab some offensive rebounds, as well. Just a thought.

The Rockets have an option on Yao for next season and they have the right to match any offer for him for his fifth season. Additionally, we can exceed the cap to match an offer. If the Rockets are willing to pay Yao, then he can't leave until after his 5th season in the league. Worrying about what Yao will do in two and a half years seems a little premature to me.

Yao needs a true PF that can rebound and play tough D like Cato used to. I am sure the Rockets will address this issue before the trading deadline. I wish Yao would spin off the player fronting him instead off pushing the player off.

In how many more threads do you intend to hate on the guy? I think your opinion is now pretty well-known.

Clutch has made a critical comment about Yao, too. But fortunately, Clutch does not feel the need (like you) to jump into EVERY Yao thread (and even into threads which were not about Yao Ming at all, like the Amare thread in the NBA Dish forum) and bash the guy.

Do we expect more? Yes. Does this mean one needs to bash the guy in a million threads? I would think not, unless there is some special motivation to do so.

    Swift's new poster.

Time to really shine Yao, you can't have stuff like this happen to you on a consistent basis.

To Yao's credit, he did block 2 of Swift's shots in the second half.

That is actually a good point, do you think Yao is contesting too many shots?

I think so. He also picks up some unneccessary fouls because of that.

You know ... I don't hate Yao ... i rarely, if ever, post anything bad about him, but I am starting to get sick of all these posts trying to make excuses as to why Yao has been playing so poorly. I'm sure he would be sick of seeing all these too.

Yes the offense has not gone through Yao lately and it probably should go through him a little more. You know what though? The Rockets have been playing better of late and have been WINNING. Yet many of you seem happier to have Yao taking more shots and having the Rox commit many more TOs than to see the Rockets win. This is a team sport, and I am sure Yao is happy to take a reduced role if it means the team is winning more (Contrary to many other NBA Players and this is what makes him special). He realizes that he is going to have to further step up and prove himself before he is given more responsibility.

That said, I do believe that he can be utilized more, but we saw early this season what happens when we spend 20 seconds trying to get him the ball. We end up with bad outside jumpers every time he cannot get himself open.

I think the Rockets are doing the right thing now ... If Yao is there and open they try to get him the ball. If he is not, move on and have someone else try to get a good shot.

The only thing I would like to see them do more is to set up some plays to get him some more outside jumpers to get him going a little bit. Other than that, it is going to be up to Yao to get open in the first 5-10 secs of the possession.

As far as being utilized like Cato, that is rediculous.

At least Yao attempts to block every shot. If he only had a PF that would also attempt to play D, Yao might not have defend the goal every time.

He was caught flat footed on that one. Like I said above he did block his other 2 attempts but this is the one that'll get played over and over.
