It was fun....I may not have been drinking but I wasn't sober . Although, rockHEAD repeatedly turned down my "Surfguy passes the pipe to rockHEAD" gestures which leads me to believe that he has cleaned up his act or hates my guts . ------------------
surf, oh my....you KNOW it's not like me to turn down the 'ol bong/pipe/fatty! i must've been away (brb) or just not seen the messages... you know me, i would've gladly hit that pipe! sorry dude. we did have a few more chatters than normal in the room and some of the text was scrolling pretty darn quick! I'll hit that sucker next time! Bob-O thanks for the pre-season sched! rockHEAD see ya in the chat room! ------------------ *** THIS SPACE FOR LEASE *** [This message has been edited by rockHEAD (edited October 11, 2000).]
I don't care what you guys say, but the whole crew was out of shape and out of whack last night. What game were you guys watching?! Here's my beef : 1) Achebe, when we say "men", you don't respond with "boys". Duh. Geez, work with us. You're wrecking tradition. 2) Where the heck was SmeggySmeg? Off running basketball camp for the roos in the outback whilst drinking Fawstuh's (Strahlian for piss)? 3) The play-by-play was sporadic at times, but Bobo made a valiant effort. Score updates should frequently be accompanied by clock updates. We gotta get in sync there. On the plus side, it was nice to see some of the regulars like Phi Slamma Jamma, Achebe, Dreamer, etc. there, even though most of them were scared off by the scrolling lines. If you've never been in a ClutchCity chat with over 30 people, imagine every lame post in the BBS scrolling by on your screen in real-time very rapidly. Scary at times, no doubt. I still like my idea about someone with a webcam pointing it at their DirecTv League Pass broadcast throughout the season so we can all watch. LOL! Just kidding DirecTv, I do not condone such actions. *ahem* ------------------ I got nothin'.
DoD, Play by play sucked because everyone was trying to do it. I can spit out the most play by play...no question. My typing skills are impeccable . Per Smeg, must have got hold of some bloody bad Roo. That...or he was off doing fuzzy math. Per the webcam, I will be in the bottom left frame with the TV in the background. Your talking to me...not watching the Rox. Okay . Too many people for meaningful chat....no doubt. It was kind of happening still. I liked seeing the regs and the very end but not the disappointment. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Surfguy (edited October 11, 2000).]
surf, you and HEAD can handle the play-by-play i will fill in with the trivial info ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
Sorry guys, my new job requires some travel out of the office into the outback (no joke) I was flying to Whyalla yesterday morning my time and then had to conduct interviews for a new job while the game was on. My bad. Should be there for tomorrows game, but maybe i won't if everyone is so out of shape. The chat room is always open, so heard there now and get some practice in, even if you are on your own, practice and get rid of that puppy fat you have all picked up. Yeah, right... until the 3rd quarter or so at which point you're too drunk to even respond. LOL! ------------------ I got nothin'. [This message has been edited by Dr of Dunk (edited October 11, 2000).]
I'll have to say that the first pre-season chat went pretty well! We consistently had 30-40 guests and 20+ hung out after the game was over! Thanks to everyone that popped in, hung out and chatted! Let's do it again on Thursday 10/12 when the Rocks have another pre-season outing at the Compaq Center. If anyone has the pre-season sched could ya post it please? Later all! rockHEAD ------------------ *** THIS SPACE FOR LEASE ***
I used to be able to give score and time much more frequently because I used to have a TV right next to my computer, I have since moved and now the TV's in the living room, but I'm working on that! I think once the hype dies down, we'll have a much more manageable chat and of course, the newbies will eventually catch on to our quirks. It is difficult to do P x P with several others doing it. So maybe we can let a couple of folks take turns doing it? It usually depends on who's chatting, cause there are times when we don't need P x P cause we're all watching, but during the times we have someone who's not watching the game would be good for some limited P x P. Smeg's comment "The chat room is always open, so head there now and get some practice in, even if you are on your own, practice and get rid of that puppy fat you have all picked up." That's funny and to top it all of, he WAS in the outback! See ya soon Smeg 'ol chap! I'm sure we'll get the rusty wheels oiled in time for the actual season. Newbies and regulars, don't let this thread discourage you from popping in and chatting. We embrace and embarass all Rocket fans! Oh and chat guests, pick a nick or we'll consider you an opposing team's fan! See you all tonight! rockHEAD ------------------ *** THIS SPACE FOR LEASE ***
