Uhh, maybe I'm just being really stupid here but I'm confused. Jeff, your comment says Texas is third lowest in state income tax. Texas has no state income tax so are the numbers listed what the average Texan pays as a federal income tax or as part of the state sales tax? Just curious... dylan ------------------ [This message has been edited by dylan (edited October 11, 2000).]
I think it should have read "tax rate." The deffinition Jeff gave, tax per capita, is what was given in the story. ------------------ Stay Cool...
I know Florida doesn't have a state tax either, but their is a tax on wealth (more like a personal property tax), once your estate reaches a certain point. Texas probably has the same thing. It could also possible be state (or franchise) taxes paid by corporations. ------------------
