Exactly! I mean all these "Trade Yao" and "Yao isnt worth the Max" posts are ridiculous!

BOTTOM LINE: Yao+Tmac has catapulted the Rockets to the #4 most valued franchise in the NBA behind media market power houses NY Knicks and LA Lakers and then 3rd Dallas Mavs.

Yao is FIRST in NBA ALL Star balloting. Tmac is 4th overall behind Yao, Garnett and Shaq! Their popularity is through the roof!

Are you kidding me? That there says it all! Yao+Tmac = Gold!

    •Tmac wont be traded
    •Yao wont be traded
    •Yao will get the Max

    End of story

People who want to trade Yao ignore the fact that he clogs the paint that free up our perimeter shooters. Let's take Yao out of the game and see what happens. And don't start crap about we do well every time Yao rests, our opponents have to adjust and it takes time. Had they known Yao was not in the game initially, you'll see something very different in their gameplan.

What you posted. How does that help the Rockets win a championship if Les Alexander is not willing to go past the luxury tax threshold? Les Alexander's Rockets produces more revenues than 28 teams in the league or so. Does that mean Les Alexander will spend more than 28 teams in the league? The answer is no. Les Alexander will not spend money that will invade into luxury tax territory. That means the payroll will always be around other teams. This means that the payroll of the Rockets has to be allocated efficiently like the Spurs, or else championships aren't coming.

However, I think Les Alexander's 1st priority is his bank account. I totally understand. I would too if I were the team owner. Yao is a cash cow. How does a cash cow benefit a Rockets fan? No benefit.

I was thinking about making a similar post - simply because these trade Yao/save Yao threads are all silly

the Rox will sign Yao to a max deal - Tmac came here to play with the big fella, so that is the correct play. If you get some younger shooters and a good rebounding PF - Yao will thrive (since he is a finesse player)

Look at the BBS favorite Amare... two games without Nash - 2 losses - (I thought HE was the best center in the West )

I, for one, am frustrated with Yao, but I would rather discuss how to improve the situation since I KNOW the Rockets indend to resign him for max year and max $$s

...btw four wins is four wins - if Yao has to get Chris Bosh numbers for the rest of the Rockets to get invovled and for them to win games

    ...so be it

(he is still more deserving of Max $$ than Mo T )

We really don't have to argue about this; my feeling is that Ming is going to leave by the end of his rookie contract. Houston is a good team but is not a team suited for him. As a matter of the fact, the way the team is playing now severely hurts his development. T-Mac only needs an average center to be effective and Van Gandy wants a bruiser in the paint. It is a waste to have Ming on this team. On the other hand, Ming going to another team with a right play style will do the wonder. If I am the member of the Yao team, I will not let Yao sign the contract with Houston. For Ming, money is not an issue. I bet that the endorsement he gets is more than the salary. The main purpose for him to come to US is to be a great basketball player rather than a role player in a good team. There are several teams in the league will help him to achieve that goal.

Two more years and he is gone. One way or the other.

I can't understand why any of you are responding to Charvo. He's a Laker fan who wants Yao. Charvo proposes the same dumb ass trade everytime and posters respond to it each and everytime. Just put him on your ignore list and be done with him.

My exact feeling too. Why should the most bashed Rocket be willing to stay in a team where he could not get more than 8 shot attempts a game?

The only way Yao would be traded is by himself. End of story.

Yao isn't going anywhere. And this team fits him just find he just has to find his role. He has been struggling because he happened to get sick just as they implemented the system so he's behind everybody in learning it.

Yeah...I would just quit worrying about it and lock up all Yao posts. The kid is the 2nd best center in the league. He isnt going anywhere.

    We are spoiled in Houston.

We've had Moses and Hakeem... there will NEVER be another Hakeem.

Our fans are impatient and not realistic when it comes to YAO. He will not be Hakeem but he is a player that ANY other team in the league wants.

    Lock em up!!!

Even when he is struggling, Yao still has the hightest fg percentage and second highest pts in the team, correct me if it's wrong. His defense is still the key for our win, he contained our opponents' important cernters and even Pfs at clutch moments. Without Yao, this team might earn a playoff spot with those aged Honet + Magic + Eagle players, but that's it, Rox would stop at the first round. Without another super star, TMac is not the "god" cheered by some fans. He has proved himself in Magic. The trade post has the funny logic, if Yao is the trash as someone described, whcih team want to deal with you. Or as you might argue, Yao does not fit rox but has value in other teams. OK, which player combined with TMac do you believe can beat Kobe + Yao, Kidd + Yao, Garnet + Yao, or even SF3 + Yao? Believe me, a trashed Yao by Rox would be a terrible lifelong enemy of Rox, he would beat Rox everytime when Rox meet his team in playoff. Because Rox just has no answer for him.

It would be a great move for the Rox but it ain't even remotely possible. KG is god here in MN.

I agree that all these trade Yao threads are stupid and short of getting KG, Duncan or some other player of that caliber its not going to happen.

That said Yao having another 40 point game would do a lot to shutting these up. Except for those YOF's who only want to see Yao playing in a place with a lot of Chinese.

Hey I'm a Chinese, Chinese- American that is, and if Yao were to sign with the Lakers I will eagerly root against him.

Another reason not to trade Yao.

Check out how bitter the anti-Francis posts and threads are in the NBA Dish forum. I can't imagine how bad it will be if Yao is traded.

Why is it so hard for you guys to figure this one out? He only wants Yao to go to one and only one team and this one and only one team is the Lakers.

Trade Yao? This will be the best thing for the other 29 NBA teams.

I have to completely agree with this post. I will admit that I am completely spoiled and sometimes compare Yao to Hakeem. This will never happen. Hakeem was in a class by himself and it is wrong for me to compare Yao to Hakeem. Hopefull wishing though. I have been catching myself and now don't really think about it as much. The only thing I want from Yao is to be more aggressive. The only thing I want from the refs is to call the fouls fair. I think with these two elements, the rest will take care of itself.

I think Rockets are not playing to the strengths of Yao. He is more like a role player now, it's a waste of talent. The coach has the main responsibility for it and has not figured out an appropriate system to combine Yao and McGrady's abilities.

If Rockets continues the current system, Yao may choose to leave, I guess.
