He had one big one at the end,'' Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. ``We made him shoot a lot of tough shots. He is a great player and maybe the toughest guy to cover in the league.''

you hear that zhao? ; )

1000% agree, a real PG is also a plus. Yao put more energy on defense and I think he did good job

glad to see you back David....good post.

and I have to agree...hotballa deserves credit for at least being honest.....cant say I have much repsect for his criticism tho...he ios being blinded to the fact that Tmac is proving all those things said about him as being wrong..

He is trying his heart out to get his teammates involved...and when they cant help win...he takes over himself.

adn even during those times when he is taking the team on his back...he still looks for getting others involved...those drives and dishes to open teammates(like the one to Barry for the open 3 late) are prime examples of him not deserving the MeMac label...

as a personal note to hotballa........using a label that isnt true about a player doesnt make you look smart or cool..it makes you look stupid.

I already gave you my words: you can read a lot of same quote after big games on KG, Duncan, and shaq. I don't understand why we "fighting" on Tmac. I really really hope he can be #1! he should be the leader

Force of habit, I've called him MeMac for a few years, it only started making a comeback after I read his comments about slacking off in Orlando.

Like I said though, I'll try to be more positive about it. Though I think part of the reaosn is because of the recent win, you guys do seem to see him a lot more differently than I'm seeing, so I'll consider your replies. The ones who called me names, I will definetely ignore you. I hope that made you feel bad about your choice of language against me. And if not, hell can't win em all

Deuce...as Im sure you have figured out from reading the posts from the members worth believing.....

it was a great team defensive effort....

and Tmac was not 100%...the quad is bothering him....but he gutted it out like the warrior he is.

Just like Sura is still hurt ..and plays thru it.

we have us some real gutsy players now...and you can tell by how the team is playing. :D

I think anyone who criticizes TMac for taking so many shots hasn't been watching the games. TMac makes long range shots with a hand in his face. If TMac is single teamed, he should be taking the shot.

I remember last season when Yao had a hook shot and a turnaround jumper. Those days are long gone. Dumping the ball down to Yao is usually a turnover or a missed hook shot or turnaround. Yao had a hook shot and turnaround go down tonight, but that was the exception rather than the norm.

I'm making the conclusion that Yao does not work on his game. TMac probably dedicates himself more to basketball which shows on the court.

BTW, TMac and Sura are the leaders of the team now. You can see it in the way they interact.

Yao looks more and more like a guy out there on an island. His teammates absolutely have no confidence in him. I can't blame them though.

If Yao were traded, TMac would care only because he no longer gets to play on national TV that much.

Yep...anyone else think that without Sura's toughness, energy and leadership, this team would not be playing as hard nosed and well as they are?

I know how he can get out of his funk. Yao needs to practice his hook shot in his spare time. Shoot many jumpers.

When Mike Bibby and Bobby Jackson weren't shooting well, they would stay after practice at the gym just shooting jumpers.

Practice makes perfect as the saying goes.

Yao's game is so off now that words can't describe how horrible it is.

Please don't just make your assumption based on nothing. From Harris to JVG, and many other credible sources, they all praised his work ethic during games and practice. Every player has slumps here and there.

I hope folks aren't blaming Yao's lack of accuracy and effectiveness on the recent flu. This malaise started late last season and spread into the playoffs. Noone remembers when Yao bricked almost every single hook shot against Shaq in the playoffs? Yao's accuracy has dropped like a rock which in turn decreases the effectiveness of a player as a go-to player. A go-to player cannot be limited to just dunks and layups. Even Shaq has baby hooks, and that dude is a monster. TMac is the go-to guy on the Rockets because he has the range and moves to get good shots when the teams needs him.

Yao needs to go shoot a thousand hook shots in practice.

I would say Yao has reached a level where he's too exhausted, both physically and mentally, through playing non-stop basketball for the past 36 months with inadequate rest.

He should seriously consider whether his commitment to the Chinese National Team should continue on a 100% level. In my view, it's only worthwhile for him to play in Olympics and World Championship games and he should only quit those crappy Asian games.

If he wants to have any chance of success in the NBA, he better stay in the US next summer, take enough rest and attend a full training camp on NBA BB.

I hope those stupid and selfish Chinese officials could take note of this. They are really destroying Yao's career in the NBA.
