So weird. After 7 years of working for Microsoft, I became a Washington Post employee tonight as Microsoft's sale of Slate to the Post finalized. I thought I was being paranoid, running around this afternoon from one internal MS site to another, frantically making copies of all the info and records (401k, performance reviews, etc.) I might need in the future. Went to a book party, came back, put my son to bed, sat down in front of this computer and tried to access the Microsoft internal library one last time. "You are not authorized to view this page" Tried another internal site. "You are not authorized to view this page" And so on. I feel like I'm living in that movie Antitrust. Everywhere I turn, doors slammed shut on me. Glad I exported my email, or by now it would all be erased. I have the strangest urge to go out and buy an iPod.
Will, this is the standard practice of IT department. I also suspect after time out, your account has been disabled for good.

Speaking of Slate, for some reason the last couple of days my hotmail inbox has been flooded with Slate SPAM. Coincidence, I THINK NOT!
