so many people said Rox want to build a team around Ming, and I havn't seen it happen. there is no point-G in this team, and no D-PF either. And sura never pass the ball to him. I just like to know that, if you seriously want to make Ming as super power, you suppose to cover his weakness or just leave it alone/expose?

All what you guys said about his weakness is because of his endurance / stamina problem.

He becomes slower, indecisive, fatigue, lost, you name it, when he can't keep up with rigorous NBA schedule.

They really need to let Yao have a break in the summer instead of going back to China to play for national team. If he keeps playing with this kind of schedule year after year, his body will break down very soon.

partly. The point I want to make is give him 15 shots every night no matter what happen! Tmac and Yao still young and they can afford to lose this season. 2-9 OK, 2-15 OK, just keep feeding him tp build his confidence

Will Yao be traded? Hell no. Even if he stays a 18/9 guy I dont see him going any where.

Why? Well because of the all mighty dollar $ign. He puts butts in the seats and is a marketers dream. Any owner would take this guy for the max because he will pay back at least twice as much.

Can he improve? One thing is for sure, he is young! Hes only 22 and has alot of bball years left in him. I think its verry UNlikley he will stay a 18/9 guy. As time goes on he will improve his game and hopfully stamina.

How can he improve his stamina? Well theres only one way, IMO. Do NOT report to the Chinese National Team! He needs to stay in the U.S. and work on his game w/ players that have a higher level of skills. If he does that, he will do wonders on the court.

Agree with DD -- he looks slow; I thought he looked quicker last year or even this preseason.

But his problems have been turn overs on the offensive side. Last night was just a bad night.

I also agree that his offense is farther along than his D; who ever thinks he's a top 3 defensive center in the league is on crack -- hell, Mutombo is MUCH better defensive center than Yao.

My guess is that he will improve as time goes on, but don't hold your breath if you think he's going to be one of the all time greats. Perenial all-star, justifiably, but not Malone or Dream like.

I still think we as fans need to show some patience.

He may be homesick, or simply overwhelmed with too much basketball.

Ever have those stretches at work, where you REALLY don't feel like being there, or doing anything, for whatever reason?

Time will help YAO become more assertive and get his timing down.

As for the off-season YAO should go to the Pete Newell Big Man Camp and start a swimming program to build his cardio, it didn't seem to hurt Tim Duncan.
