Mazda 6 deserves a mention, and the new Dodge Magnum as well but given the choice I take the good ol G35
I'm a BMW fan. I owned a 530 touring wagon which was a great car. Then I down sized and went with a MINI Cooper S which I loved. Taking that car to the track was a blast. 25 thousand dollar car that would hang with anything in the curves but lacked the top end to keep up with the higher HP cars. I recently traded it in because I have 2 small kids, didn't want to float another car payment, and our other car is 10 years old and has 100,000 miles on it. After much research I ended up with a Dodge Magnum RT (the one with the Hemi). I've never owned a Dodge but the build quality seems to be on par with other cars in the 30-35 K range. It is sporty for a wagon, very powerful and smooth as silk on the open road. When you nail the gas get ready to pass. The best part is now I can fit my family, my dog and our stuff in the car for road trips.
BTW, don't you mean a Cadillac CTS in this poll? And a 330 is a better comparison in this comparo than a 325. WOOT! TL!!!
What he said. However, it would be tough to get a 330 for less than 40. In fact, one of my friends paid over 40 for a 325 without navigation or anything too special. Just a sport package and premium sound.
All I gotta say about a Caddy is, BUY IT USED! Those things depreciate like a rock. Drive it off the lot, you just lost 8-10K...
Well, there was a car and driver test I saw this weekend of all these, plus the Lexus I30, and they raved on how much you get with the BMW...So I picked that as it was pretty compelling for cars in the $30K range...
A loaded 330 will get you into the 40's, and you HAVE to use the 330 in comparison b/c the 325 comes nowhere near the others in power. The top of the line loaded G35 - AWD, leather/wood trim, etc is still under 40. The G35 will give you almost 290HP in auto, and an amazing 298! - yes 298 - in the 6 speed. Not even a competition if you factor cost to looks/performance/accesories - G35 wins hands down. I'd go: 1. G35 by a mile. 2. TL 3. 330 4. Audi A4 5. Cadillac CTS
Hey Rocket G, Is that 298 in the coupe only or also sedan? I forgot that Infiniti bumped the hp for this year as my previous post that talked about 280 for the coupe and 260 for the sedan was for the 2003 models.
It may not be considered a sports sedan, but I would get a Lexus ES 330. We test drove one before we bought our '05 Odyssey. (we were replacing our old one) Just loved the Lexus.
