Lets be realistic guys...we're a hot T-Mac away from a blowout already. [similar to Phoenix situation]

    Mavs win 107-89

    * Plus it's in Dallas

Should be interesting with Wesley here now. His perimeter Defense will have to be good. Jon Barry will be a good fit in this game at all. Barrett too. Should be a fun, high scoring game.

I would have said blown out but......The Rockets have been improving in my mind.

Come to think of it, this is starting to feel exactly like the Astros 2004 season. Look at the similarities.....

Both the Astros and Rockets had mad hype before the season began by making big off-season acquisitions. In the beginning of the season, both teams didnt live up to lofty expectations. Then both teams made a trade midway through the first half of the seasons in an effort to improve. We all know and will never forget what happened from there with the Astros.....is it the Rockets turn?

    Believe......Rox win tonight.

Dirk will get his, but we have to hold the other guys in check. We can't have Finley blowing up again. If we can do that, we have a chance.

High pick-roll with TMC would work. Low post may not Ok.

Dampier is a Yao stopper. There won't be any gimmes for Yao this game. Yao needs to practice his jumper. He'll need it to pull Dampier away from the paint to allow TMac to drive to the bucket. [/B][/QUOTE]

Rocks have a great chance to win tonight. Josh Howard will likely be out with the flu and he has become a big part of their team. (mad because I am a Mavs fan.)

Looks like Dampier or Howard might not be available, that could be huge. Who else do they have to play center?

Houston (17-17) at Dallas (22-10) 9:00 pm EST
    2004-05 Stats at a Glance
DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Mavericks look to complete a perfect five-game homestand Wednesday when they face the Southwest Division-rival Houston Rockets.

The Mavericks won their fifth game in a row Saturday with a 121-101 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Dirk Nowitzki scored 34 points and Michael Finley added 33 for Dallas, which shot a team-record 74 percent in the first half and reached triple figures for the seventh consecutive contest.

The Mavs may have to try to extend their winning streak without starters Josh Howard and Erick Dampier. Howard has been suffering from flu-like symptoms while Dampier has been hampered by a left knee injury.

If one or both are unable to go, it could be good news for Houston's 1-2 punch of Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming.

In Dallas' 102-78 triumph over Houston on December 11, Howard held McGrady, who scored a season-high 48 points in the teams' previous meeting, to 15 points on 6-of-16 shooting and Dampier allowed Yao to score 13 on 3-of-11 shooting.

In the Rockets' two losses to the Mavs, Yao has averaged just 13 points on 27 percent shooting.

Houston snapped a two-game losing skid with a 116-98 win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. McGrady scored 20 of his 45 points in the fourth quarter and the Rockets made 58 percent 3-pointers to move back to .500.

We need to penetrate and dish and not post up Yao anymore. If we use Yao as a finisher and Tracy shoots well, we have a chance.
