    Hey all,

I’ve always heard you guys mention that you can park for free when you go to a game if you get there early. My question is where do you park?

When me and my wife come down for games we always get there about a half hour before doors open and we drive around trying to find these free parking spots but just give up and pay $10.

Where are these free parking spots?

We are coming down for the SA game on Sat. and would love to know. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

You probably need to get their a little earlier. If you got there around 6:30, you should be fine. If you drink, stop off at the B.U.S. (if it's still open this year) and have a couple of cheaper drinks before heading in.

So any parking meters are free after 6? There are plent in front of the TC, I just didn't want to park there because I was afraid about getting towed.

We usually get there a bit before 6 for a 7:30 game.

Yes, parking meters are free after 6. I live in Clear Lake, so we come in on Pease, turn left on LaBranch, turn left on Jefferson, and park. It is a three block walk to the TC, but after the game, we go to the car, start it up, and drive straight on Jefferson until it merges with I-45.

On the subject of parking, if you cant find a free parking meter, I recommend parking at the Houston Center. I think it's on Lamar and Austin (?)...something like that...

Anyways its only 5 bucks, garage parking, and only like 2 blocks away from the TC

I read half an hour before the game starts rather than when the doors open. Drr.

Thanks for the parking info. I am from Austin and will be in Houston for business on Thursday. Would like to get there for the Nets game.

Or just shotgun a 6 pack before you get out of the car.

Not that I would know anything about that.

Highly reccommend this, I got so used to parking for free all around downtown that when I parked in downtown to watch Game 1 of the Lakers-Rockets playoffs last year at Stack's place, my car got towed because I parked at a prison faciltly :(

All that saving of parking for free came back to me, had to pay $160 for the towing fees.... :(

Ok, so those meters infront of the Hubcap are free, yes or no.

The ones next to the $20 parking lot across from the box office.

This why I alway end up paying for parking because I'm always thinking I'm going to get towed.

Read the no parking signs. You will get towed if you park in front of the TC.

I am a season ticket holder & have never once paid for parking. Look for the signs on all of the streets around the TC that say "No Parking Monday - Friday (have some time after that)" anyways you are free to park there after 6 & on weekends...simple as that.

I wish I could go, wait, isn't this in the wrong forum? Shouldn't be in Rockets Saved! Downtown Arena? Helpful post nonetheless.
