I didn't know Earle was classified as country, but either way, I've seen him twice, and this guy is a freakin' rocker.

    All personal political views aside.

Pat Green consistantly has some of the biggest turn outs during the Rodeo. This isn't SXSW!

    Nice.

Personally, you couldn't drag me kicking and screaming to the rodeo, but to each his own. :)

Ok, so I don't know how I know this, but I know the chorus to some new age country song.

    Some beach....somewhere.

    Ack.

    Jeff,

One of the rules of being a single guy, is that where there are potentially single, good-lookin' women, that's where you are.

Kenny Chesney sucks...If he's the best in country right now, we're doomed...

Anyway, Maroon 5 is one of my favorite bands, but in a venue like this, don't see it...Nuff's been said about Hillary Duff, but she is cute for a youngster...Hell, my daughter may want to go see her...

wohoooo Maroon 5, definetely going to see them

I agree with rrj_gamz about this isnt a good venue for them, but I have already seen them once live last July with John Mayer and they were great. Its alot better at Woodlands, but saw John Mayer also last year at the rodeo and it wasnt bad at all, but still prefer Woodlands.

Maroon 5 sucks, their Charlie and the Chocolate factory song is God awful!! Gene Wilder would be thouroghly pissed.

Even worse, I saw Peabo Bryson many moons ago at the Rodeo, terrible I must say!

I absolutely agree. I remember last year I went to see Lyle Lovett and Martina McBride. I was excited by seeing Lovett, and felt sad when half the crowd left after Martina finished.

For some reason now, real country is called alt. country. Pop country is what passes for real country, and it is a horrible slick, polished souless beast.

The only country now that I can stand is either classic country, or alt. country music. I wish that the Rodeo folks would get some of those bands in their for at least one day.

I guess since I don't live in Texas anymore I won't see it, but it still hurts to see that line up.

We also went to see Lyle Lovett the last year they had the rodeo in the Astrodome. I really enjoyed Lovett-my wife is fan. Martina made me want to hurl. Why is it that Hotel California type "country pop music sells, and traditional -George Jones -Ernest Tubb-Merle Haggard music does not sell?

No accounting for popular taste. Money talks, but Alabama like - Shenandoah, Hotel Cal music really blows--it is featured in the lounge in Hell......
