This year's lineup bites. I haven't even heard of a few on this list. I normally go to about 4 a year, but this year the only ones I'm interested in are Alicia Keys and Lynyrd Skynyrd. If you like country music, you'll be happy...if you don't, you won't. Here's the list:

    Tuesday, March 1....................Brooks & Dunn
    Wednesday, March 2...............Alan Jackson
Thursday, March 3...................Armed Forces Salute: Neal McCoy, Charlie Daniels Band, Lee Greenwood
Friday, March 4........................Black Heritage Day: Alicia Keys
    Saturday, March 5...................Gretchen Wilson
    Sunday, March 6......................Hilary Duff
Monday, March 7.....................Jeff Foxworthy, Big & Rich
    Tuesday, March 8....................Keith Urban
    Wednesday, March 9...............Kenny Chesney
    Thursday, March 10.................Rascal Flatts
    Friday, March 11......................Pat Green
    Saturday, March 12.................Martina McBride
Sunday, March 13...................Go Tejano Day: Duelo, Jimmy G y El Grupo Mazz
    Monday, March 14...................Steve Miller Band
    Tuesday, March 15..................Brad Paisley
    Wednesday, March 16.............Maroon5
    Thursday, March 17.................Montgomery Gentry
    Friday, March 18.......................Lynyrd Skynyrd
Saturday, March 19...................RodeoHouston Finals: Clint Black
Sunday, March 20.....................RodeoHouston Collegiate Championship: Clay Walker

Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Pat Green, Steve Miller Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd all look good to me. I think this is one of their better lineups. For my tastes, this lineup kicks the crap out of what was at the Austin City Limits festival in the fall, as a point of comparison.

This is a pathetically bad lineup. No reason to go to the HLSR. I might not even go to the barbecue cookoff this year.

    Wow.

;) Just kidding...I hate it when people criticize other people's taste in music. To each their own.

That's funny; Go Tejano Day and Black Heritage Day. How come they don't prepend the other days as White Day?

Did I say funny, I meant dumb.

I'm still waiting for a Go Kosher day. Talent lineup would include Jerry Seinfeld and an Adam Duritz solo concert.

    ;)

I'm not really sure what some of you people were expecting. This is the Rodeo we're talking about here. Of course most of the bands will be country. That's the target market they are dealing with. If you were expecting to see Green Day, Jay Z or Pavarotti then you're obviously not in tune with the audience they're marketing this event to.

Nashville has destroyed real country music and re-designed it as soft pop with a twang in order to appeal to a female demographic. Some people like that, but I don't.

It's not the nature of the music I object to, it's the acts they booked. Where's Willie Nelson? How about some country acts with some edge to them, like Steve Earle, instead of a bunch of glossy Nashville countrypolitans?
