damn...when i took the SAT for the first time in 7th or 8th grade, i made a 700-something... Pa. Boy, 13, Scores Perfect 1600 on SAT MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (AP) - A 13-year-old boy has scored a perfect 1600 on the SAT, a standardized test usually given to college-bound high school seniors. ``I was pretty surprised and happy,'' said Lee Kennedy-Shaffer, an eighth-grader at Mechanicsburg Middle School. ``I did not think I would score that high.'' He got the perfect score for a test he took in December as part of a program for gifted children. He wasn't the first in his family to get a perfect score, but he was the first to do so at such a young age. In June 2003 his brother Ross scored 1600 on the SAT as a junior at Mechanicsburg High School. The oldest brother, Alan, had 1520 on the exam. ``When your mother is a high school math teacher and your father is a history professor ... doing well in school is expected,'' Alan Kennedy-Shaffer said. Good for him. He's obviously a very smart kid. I hope he goes on to do something that's actually meaningful. Like that nine-year-old who asked his parents to give the money for his birthday party and presents to victims of the tsunami.
I know a lot of people who've gotten 1600 some are really smart, others just have good memories. I would say that sucess in life is correlated with SAT score, but once you reach a certain threshold it's less relevant. Doing it at 13 is hard though because it takes concentration, and god knows I didn't have the concentration to sit down for 4 hours at a time to fill out bubbles when I was 13.
...just a bunch of nerds who never had a girlfriend their lives. they're like thirty now. they make up secret codes and analyze greek mythology and make secret societies where other guys who never had girlfriends can join in. they do stupid crap like this to feel special. tt's a scam. nerds were doin' it twenty five years ago and new nerds are doing it again. damn. i'm embarrassed (is that even spelled right?). my score was horribly low. well... not horribly, but it was low.
I have a friend who got a 1600 on his SATs and went on to have my dream job of becoming a sports journalist at his alma mater and having his stuff printed by the Associated Press. He also called games for his alma mater in various "big 3" sports. He also just got married. They're not all nerds. Some are damned blessed.
So does he get any coupon to take other tests for free next time? ETS shamelessly overcharges for every little things.
If he is a genious he needs to take it again and score a 0 just for kicks. Then I'll be impressed. 1600 is attainable. Not by me, but for many others.
