Just a little break from all of the YAO bashing ..

While Yao has to improve in several areas for December he averaged the following stats per game:

    51% FG
    78% FT

    19.9 Points
    10 Rebounds

    2.4 Blocks
    3.5 Turnovers

Granted December was a relative soft month in terms of schedule but he is more of an asset to the team than not..

BUT, my real reason to start this thread for all of the AMARE is the best people.. is that STEVE NASH is the gas that makes that engine run. Granted, I am not taking anything away from Amare's physical skills and developing game, without Nash on that team, I feel confident that AMARE would not be having near the amount of success he currently is having.

What would the ROX be like if we had a Seve Nash getting into the lane of opposing defenses and making the team betters and getting easy shots for NASH & TMAC. What would Yao's and T'Mac's numbers look like ?

    Just food for thought.

Yao will be traded? But Nash is a very good half-court PG too.

Steve Nash is the MVP of the Suns... without him, they are a bunch of shooters standing around waiting for the ball (of course with him they are a bunch of shooters standing around waiting for the ball, but at least the ball gets there)

    Sorry for the TYPO,,

My entire reason for starting this thread was to basically state that without NASH , the SUNs would be a 7,8, or 9 seed in the west.

And that if the ROX had a Steve Nash type of PG to go with Yao and T-Mac, we would easily be in the TOP 4 seeding of the WEST..

And what would Yao's and T-Mac's statistical averages be with that type of PG

I really dont think Nash would help Yao much. I have decided if Mark Jackson could not get Yao the ball consistently, no one could. I think it's 90% Yao's own problem. But for the team overall, of course we're better off with Nash.

We needs a penetration PG to get Yao the ball. See Kobe - Shaq.
The problem with Tmac is he settles with jumpers rather than
    penetration.

Every team in the league would get better if Steve Nash was the PG, what's your point?

    Exactly,

We have Yao and T-Mac, you can't have a team with stars at every position.

What if the Rockets had Garnett, Nash, and Ray Allen with Yao and T-Mac. Who cares, it ain't gonna happen. This isn't Playstation II.

If the offense was just a bring it down and throw it into Yao, it would not help much, but if you did more Pick N Rolls and movement with Nash's ability to get into the lane,, he would find Yao an easy target to drop a dime or two

Even with the drop it into Yao by the PG type of offense, you would not have alot of team's sagging with help because of Nash's ability to hit the three or get into the lane when Yao kicked the ball back out

Who said I dont like Yao? Otherwise I won't critisize him so
much. I just hate his role player mentality.

Without Steve Nash the Suns only won 29 games and were a lottery team. IMO Steve Nash should be the MVP this year if they keep this pace up.

 I believe Yao could be a much better player if he were
assertive and played like a Franchise player. I dont care how
many he missed he should put at least 18 shots a game.

I dont like low FG% volume shooters who seldom go to the line.
I like Tmac's play in the Cavs/Bucks/Jazz games because he
was aggressive and went to the line.

If the Rockets had Nash, Yao would probably be even more of a role player than he is now with this new Mcgrady led Rockets team.

Yeah if the rockets were running fast breaks all game long then Yao would not be able to keep up with that pace.

I dont think Nash would have the same impact on Yao as he has had on Amare. Amare is able to get out and run whereas Yao will never be able to produce in a game with that kind of pace. Additionally with Yao standing there in the middle of the lane it would not allow Nash to penitrate as much as he does now (kind of like with T-mac...he drives to the basket less than he did in previous years). Lastly, there is really no point in talking about this this since we will never be able to afford a point guard like Nash as long as we have Tmac and Yao.

If we had Nash, this team would be 32-0 right now.

There is a reason why Kobe loves penetration while TMac does not.
