Amare socred exactly ONE point while guarded by Yao!

Here are some nice trash-talking material for Amare and Suns fans. I found out after going through the play-by-play. So Amare shot 0-4 FG, 3 TOs, 1-4 FT, managed a grand-total of 1 point while guarded by Yao. Can you say PWNED? :)

Yao did a great job forcing Amare behind the backboard and then keeping him from getting a good shot off. Jvg (or Ewing? nah) did a great job of preparing Yao for this matchup.

Yao did do a good job but it just sucks when all 5 of your starters can score 20+ points each on any given night.

I wish Yao had amare's confidence. Just shoot the ball everytime when single coverd. Hook, dunk, fade way, it doesnt matter. Just shoot the ball. Dont worry about the feelings of your coach and team mates. Remember You are the rox franchise player.

whenever amare gets the ball, he goes straight to the basket. He never looks for his team mates even when they are wide open.

The problem Lancet, is nowhere does it say guarded by Yao.

This could be a selection of plays picked out to make a point, and not a full list.

That could be true, but I honestly cannot remember a play where Amare scored a basket on Yao.

    WOAH !!

I am not doubting Lancet AT ALL, just pointing out that the Phoenix faithful will be less agreeable, and they will just say Scoreboard.

DD, I actually went through the play-by-play and checked all Amare's plays while Yao is on court and guarding Amare. There was one fastbreak where Amare make one shot while fouled by T-Mac. I left it out since Yao wasn't guarding him.

Yao can definitely guard Amare one on one. Not many guys can do that in this league. I don't think that Amare can guard Yao one on one, but we didn't have much of a chance to see that tonight.

Actually Amare scored 4 points against Yao. It was a 3 point play after a fast break dunk and a foul (TMac).

Yao also fouled Amare on a play and Amare made 1 FT out of 2.

In the first half, Amare was fouled on another play while Yao was on the court, Amare missed both ETs.

Yao played Amare straight up, while was guarded by two Suns most of the night.

BTW, Amare was 1-8 plus 5 TOs against Yao. He scored 15 points against Deke/Mo on 4-7 shooting from the floor.

They did go to Amare early in the game and three times in a row Amare took it to Yao in the paint. But he got blocked one time and missed the other two. Then for some reasons they didn't really go to Amare anymore when Yao was in the game. I even saw Amare uncharacteristically pass the ball out a few times when Yao was guarding him.

but what did yao do besides keep amare scoreless for 4 shots??

what kind of an impact did he make?? that is what the difference is for me. the fact that he was replaced with 4 minutes to go down by 10 for deke who clearly outplayed him. i got to give this one to amare. not only did he make an impact that was the biggest reason that the rockets were guarding the middle and letting them have perimeter shots, but he took it strong and aggressive every time. he impacted the game, and yao had no impact.

how do u expect him to shoot if he never (seldom) gets the ball from the guards!!!!?
and when the guards do (occassionally) pass him the rock, he's often caught by surprise and results in a TO!
then he has to wait another 3~4 minutes before the guards decides (has the confidence to) pass him the ball again, and by then, he's probably on the bench according to jvg's substitution pattern.

playing in yao's shoes are just sad...

it's much easier to make an impact with the BALL IN YOUR HAND!
