Nobody said we lost the game becaucse of the fact that he dropped the ball. We lost because Phoenix is much much better. Period. That play however crystallized the maddening inconsistency that seems to characterize Yao Ming's play - on certain plays or nights he looks like a genuine badass and dominates his opposition, the next minute he gets spanked by Zaza or has an awful sequence like that one. It's not the reason why we lost, it's just annoying because sometimes he's great and sometimes he looks like he shouldn't be in the league.
Simple: because Amare needs to score some points to make the competition fair. Poor guy only scored one basket against Yao (a fast break dunk) with 6 TOs. JVG is trying to trade Yao for Amare so that he cannot make AMare look too bad.
Amare wasn't very impressive. He has to be the least dominating 25 ppg scorer in the nba. But Yao wasn't very good in this game either. I can't believe he got shutdown by a fronting marion.
I'm not a YOF by any means but am i the only one that thinks it's RIDICULOUS that Yao has to pratically go fetch the ball? like he tries to post up but they swing the ball to the other side. Yao then has to sidestep over to the other side. It's like c'mon..the man is positioned...get him the damn ball but nope they keep swinging the ball on the perimeter.
The ball movement was pretty good but we need to add shooters along with upgrades at the 4 and and the 1. I hope we won't get down. There were some plus points as well. We didn't get blown out. I think Barry and Wesley need to play together when Sura is having a bad game. The Suns are very good but they aren't unbeatable.
Although I live in Houston, now I 'd like to see Yao go to another team. JVG and the current Houston MAGIC are not for YAO. Why does not YAO go to lakers leaving all of his haters here playing with houston MAGIC?
That play from Yao is SO ANNOYING. I couldn't sleep tonight. Only if that hadn't happened, I would be sound as asleep right now, even despite all the missed open 3's from our guards and T-mac.
At one point when Tmac consisitantly attack baskets, Sun's inside weak defend exposured so obviously, but he and Rocket stopped continue to do it again and again, thy like to compete 3's against Sun. That's not smart .
I don't know why JVG or the Rockets didn't utilize Yao in the post tonite more. I don't care if he clanks 3 shots in a row, Yao and McGrady should be the ones taking the most shots and have the most plays executed for them. I didn't mind JVG leaving Deke for so long cuz the he was hot and all, but they've got to look at Yao more simply put. Too many times tonite, one of our guards tried to tie the game or cut the deficit with the long ball when we were only down by 4 or 5. It just seemed to me that the Rockets got caught up with the Sun's style and just try to outrun them too often. The Rockets needed their half court execution and too often tonite, they seem to try to run with the Suns.
Or at least in 3 sequences Yao was single covered and 3 feet away from the basket, waving his hands hopelessly.......and ended with a TMac 3 that bricked.
It really is annoying for you, since now your going to have to stay up all night long and reply everytiime anybody dares to question the great YM.
