First, let me preface this by saying that if you are not a wrestling fan, please don't come in here and tell us that it is fake, or a testostorone soap opera, or whatever. 1) We know. 2) We don't care what you think. We watch it, because we find it amusing and that should be enough.

Anyways, what is everyone's favorite wrestler (or gimmick) currently active or from the past? Of all time, I have to pick the Undertaker (the "Prince of Darkness" version, not the "Ooh! I'm a biker!" version). That character was simply amazing and made for an amazing heel. My current favorites are Kurt Angle (it's true! it's true!), Kane (granted, he's somewhat of a ripoff of the old Undertaker), and Jeff Hardy. In my opinion, Kurt Angle is simply the best heel in the WWF right now. He's cunning, devious, and is amazingly charismatic for having been in the WWF for such little time. Kane may not have the deepest character, but I just got to love the unstoppable monster gimmick. Not to mention the guy is enormous and intimidating. Jeff Hardy may not be able to do a simple power bomb to save his life, but the guy (along with his brother, Edge and Christian, etc.) have put on THE best matches I've ever seen. The stunts the guy pulls makes you wonder how he can still walk and leave you breathless.

Oh, and how could I forget Stone Cold? He'll probably be right up there when he's fully back. The guy is straight up INTENSE.

As you may have noticed, I haven't mentioned any WCW wrestlers. I do not watch WCW, so I really comment on them.

    Oh Hell Yeah!
Back in the day, Hulk Hogan was it! The von Erichs, the Four Horsemen, the Fabulous Freebirds....the list goes on and on.

WCW does suck, but I still have some there I'd like to see in the WWF:
    Buff Bagwell
    Scott Hall
    Kevin Nash
    Scott Steiner
    Goldburg

WWF absolutely rules. They have so much talent and they do so much with that talent....the story lines are great, IMO.
    Favs include:
Stone Cold- damn I hope he's in full health and can start beating people up and drinking beer again.

the Rock- I keep waiting to get tired of him, but that day seems like it will never come. Great charisma there.

Undertaker- Prince of Darkness and American Badass versions. I just love this guy.

Kurt Angle- Its true! Its true!, he's is a great heel.

Triple H- the ultimate bad guy. I'll never stop hating him.

Mick Foley- I was so sad when he left the ring and so happy to see him stay with the show in the Commissioner role. Have you read his book? He's so great and so funny.

Chris Jericho- another one of my favs. He cracks me up.

Chris Benoit- for what he lacks in charisma, he more than makes up for in technical skills and intensity. I love watching him in the ring.

There are countless others. I'm sure this won't be the last of me in this thread.

Too damn old! I used to watch those two and many more on Houston Wrestling, hosted by Paul Bosch when I was a kid.

LOL... weird... I was gonna start the exact same thread when I got home. I come home and here it is.

Kurt Angle?! You need a checkup. What's wrong with you?

The WWF is a carnival and the WCW is quickly approaching the same in terms of stupidity level.

The Undertaker of old was awesome, but then so was Kane. Goldberg is up there, but they've made him "not-so-invincible" as of late. The Hulk Hogan of the WWF was probably my favorite of all time, but then I know I'm probably forgetting somebody. I also like Chronic in the WCW, too. Stone Cold has to be near the top of the list. I like the Rock.

Going way back I liked Andre the Giant, Kamala, Bruiser Brody, Ox Baker, the Blade Runners (Sting and the Dingo/Ultimate Warrior), Mil Mascaras and other high-flying/acrobatic Mexican wrestlers, and the Road Warriors.

All that being said, RASSLIN' ain't wut it used ta be. Now it's just a joke, back then it was a joke, but at least they tried to hide it. [IMG]

Wow. I remember a Johnny Valentine, but I remember Greg "The Hammer" Valentine even better. Paul Bosch and his nephew Peter Birkholtz used to host Houston Wrestling. I still can hum the 2 theme "songs" they used. LOL! Here are some names from the Wahoo generation for you to reflect on :

Mr. Wrestling #2 (do you remember Mr. Wrestling #1? [IMG])
Jose Lothario (dude wrestled until he was 80 I think)
    Gino Hernandez
    Nick Bockwinkle
Harley Race (involved in some violent battles with Rick Flair/Nick Bockwinkle/Greg Valentine)
Superstar Billy Graham (I still remember when Tony Atlas staged him up by showing off that Mr. America body of his)
Tony Atlas (who was still wrestling)
Tiger Conway, Jr. (used to wrestle on Houston Wrestling and advertise chainlink fences for his dad's store; I think it was their fences that they used for the Texas Tornado matches)
Bruiser Brody (used to be in some of the most vicious fights I've ever seen)
    Ox Baker (the heart punch!)
Black Claw Lansa (the claw hold)
Blackjack Mulligan (I think his son may be Bradshaw of the Acolytes)
The Great Kabuki (green spitting bastid)

I really got tired of wrestling, so I'm currently going through pro wrestling withdrawl (haven't really watched it in about eight or nine months), but I have a friend who's a HUGE wrestling fan that keeps me up to date on the characters and storylines and such, so I can at least stay conversational with the topic. My favorite new generation WWF wrestler is probably HHH...Dude could switch from face to heel and back at the drop of a hat, and The Pedigree is one of the coolest finishing moves ever

As for the old school wrestlers, Jake The Snake is probably my favorite of ALL time. My mom has this morbid fear of snakes, so she always bolted every time he let Damian out of that sack. I used to get so pumped up when he was about to DDT someone that I would jump up and down on the couch. It's a shame that such an excellent finisher has been almost non-existent the past couple of years

Oh yeah, how can anybody possibly forget about "E-C-DUB!!! E-C-DUB!!! E-C-DUB!!!"

ECW has put on some awesome PPVs that aren't as expensive as WWF or WCW. Rob Van Dam was and is the best wrestler that Fed ever had...Dude brought it every night and never let the crowd down..

Ultimate Warrior, pure hype and always got the crowd going with his endless energy. I wish I could have seen more of him, he and Hulk Hogan were awesome together.

Brett "the Hitman" Hart, a great wrestler from Calgary, who had an incredible rivalry with Stone Cold before he had some tiffs with Vince McMahon and left for WCW.

As for current wrestlers, its hard to not like the Rock, Stone Cold is the man, but I must admitt, Kurt Angle is growing on me. Its true, its true! Farooq is another guy who may be quiet, but is one powerful monster.

What about the female personalities? For me, its Lita by far . . . [IMG]

I hated Kurt Angle when he first came into the WWF. Then he grew on me. And grew... and grew. His feud with Triple H has simply elevated the guy to top heel in my book. His facial expressions (especially the smirk!) and actions simply make out to be one cunning and evil man.

Ooooh... don't get me started on Lita...

My favorite all-time has gotta be Ted DiBiase. Now that was a cool angle.

Anybody else think that Rock and Triple H are both waaaaaay better as heels?

Damn, Behad & Dr. of Dunk, I was going to say Jose Lothario.

    How about Ernie Ladd?

Funny story: I remember my Dad taking me to wrestling at the Sam Houston Coliseum when I was 7 or 8 and I went to the restroom by myself and got lost. I had to go up to the ring PA announcer so he could announce "will the father of RMT(substitute real name here) please come to ringside to pick up your child".

To this day, my father insists I got lost on purpose so I could hear my name called out on television during the Saturday and Sunday repeat broadcasts of Houston Wrestling with Paul Bosch! [IMG]

    I always like Kerry Von.....

Wait, I am not supposed to post here because I made a comment Lord Tree didn't like, and he doesn't care what I think.

    Nevermind.

Hoop-T: That wasn't meant to be personal, it's just that I find it very annoying when people take up the holier than thou crusade against wrestling (Or at least appear to be doing so).

It had to be personal....you quoted me directly. That's ok....had nothing to do with a holier than thou crusade. I just think wrestling is tarnished now, with more schemes, plots, and elaborate makeup and things. I used to enjoy watching it in the mid to late 80's.

Wow I am really surprised,I got on here thinking I was going to be the only one who liked Angle. However I am not surprised there are more Lita fans, those two oh and Kain are my favorites. My favorite Tag Team is the Hardys and of all-time are the Legion of Doom(Hawk&Animal)Best of all-time!!!

Behad,my dad talks to me all the time when he used to watch all the old timers back when the were wrestling for Houston Wrestling.

Wresling now is so much more exciting,I loved wrestling in the 80s as well but come on they really only had 1 match a night, the main event, all the other matches were allways between a star and a no name guy you never heard of that looked like your dad.

I have a question whatever happened to The Man They Call Vader,I liked him?

    WHAT A RUSHHHHHHHH!!!
