Thanks for the info. We could use all the help we can. Maybe he can be as serviceable as Dallas Clark for us in the near future.
I think we'll lose Payne to free agency and pick up a NT in the draft. I was hoping we pick up a new left guard and move "the Pitts" to backup. I'm sick of the whole damn OL jumping off sides. They can all go as far as I care. I'm sure Carr wouldn't argue.
The Titans really helped themselves, drafting #6, and they will probably be very good next year given the fact they were bad due to so many injuries.
The Titans are waaaaayyyy over the salary cap next year and will lose a boatload of guys unless McNair is let go. And even if McNair is gone they'll still lose some contributors.
Only 25 million over. It's a good year. LOL FREE AGENTS Antowain Smith UFA Andre Dyson UFA Carlos Hall RFA Gary Anderson UFA Jason McCadelly UFA Shad Meier i think Calmus (can be tendered) Berlin (can be tendered) Expect Juqua Thomas and Joe Nedney to get released Doug Johnson i think Those are not too bad for Titans. Dyson and Hall are big ones. All replaceable at worst. Now if you compare that to the injury list you see what I 'm talking about. RB Chris Brown (toe) QB Steve McNair (sternum) CB Samari Rolle (knee) S Lance Schulters (foot) CB Andre Woolfolk (wrist) WR Drew Bennett (shoulder) LB Rocky Boiman (calf) DE Carlos Hall (knee/finger) DT Albert Haynesworth (elbow) TE Erron Kinney (ankle) WR Derrick Mason (ankle) T Jason Mathews (back) T Fred Miller (ankle) S Lamont Thompson (ankle) QB Billy Volek (knee) I think the Titans will be back in form next year as long as Volek has successful surgery. McNair and Volek are on about the same talent level in very different ways. So I'm not worried about the offense. The Defense is questionable, but with only 3 starters playing I can't really fault them for giving up 40 points a game. I mean the starting MLB was thought to be a long snapper mistakenly and then he starts for us. That's how bad it got. But if the Titans get everyone back I like our chances.
McNair was an MVP. McNair put his team on his shoulders. I don't see Volek being an MVP or that sort of player. Ever. Maybe I'm wrong.
True. Volek is only 2-7 as a starter. Not quite MVP. Not quite McNair. But, and I say that cautiously, Volek has more passing yards and more td's in those 9 starts than any qb in the history of the nfl. And not by a little, by almost 800 yards, and the second best is Warner and you know what he did. Make of that what you will. Some will make nothing of it. But I can't ignore the fact he has thrown for 400+ twice already. I could ignore 300+ because any game may dictate a 300 yard performace, but 492 yards is sick no matter what the sitation. Especially given he is throwing the ball to injured WR's in Mason and Bennett. I would have been worried about McNair last year, but Volek proved he could throw consistently this year. The only question now is can he manage a game and get the win. Big question. But I like his chances if McNair goes down.
I think the Texans will lose Demarcus Faggins to Free Agency. As good as that guy is I can't see him signing with the Texans and being a nickle back when he can start for about 10 other teams in the league. If he stays thats great but I don't see it.
Won't Faggins be a restricted free agent since he has less than 3 years service? If so, the Texans could have the rights to match any offer for him or get draft compensation for him depending on the size of the one year tender.
