Whatever happens I hope we don't pick up anyone from New Jersey, they haven't got anything good that we could get for MoT.

They don't have any contracts that last past this year except for Kidd, Carter, and Jefferson. This move would be total cap cutting.

What environment would that be? flipping burgers? as a male stripper?

I'd say "very productive" as an NBA player would be a huge exaggeration. He will give you some offense off the bench. But, he can't handle the ball, he doesn't rebound worth a crap, he's not going to spearhead the fast break, he loads up on fouls when he makes to effort to play defense and he takes alot of bad shots. He's got a couple of basic scoring moves that work modestly for him. Forget system, he's just not worth the money we pay him. But, if someone wants him, then great for the Rox!

I'd take J. Collins if they don't want him. Another 7 footer on our team could not hurt us at all.

I just want people to at least give us SOME kind of source - even if they cannot say much more - or even more details would be nice.

So, please Mr. Poster, give us some details... we WANT to believe

... btw - I have read some internet chatter a few weeks back that New Jersey is desparate enough for a 4 to take Mo T (even though his contract is for more $$$, he is younger than Howard and his contract is shorter)

if it is Mo, I say you gotta do it - he is a nice offensive weapon, but he needs 15-20 shots a game to get it going... AND he needs to rebound better - neither will happen for him playing for the Ronx in the West

The Nets should give us something just because they really got over on us for the EGriff deal. They owe us big time for that one.

Houston trades: SF Clarence Weatherspoon (2.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 0.2 apg in 8.3 minutes)
PF Maurice Taylor (8.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 24.3 minutes)
Houston receives: PG Jason Kidd (8.7 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 5.8 apg in 28.5 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -1.6 ppg, -0.6 rpg, and +4.1 apg.

New Jersey trades: PG Jason Kidd (8.7 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 5.8 apg in 28.5 minutes)
New Jersey receives: SF Clarence Weatherspoon (2.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 0.2 apg in 8.3 minutes)
PF Maurice Taylor (8.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 24.3 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +1.6 ppg, +0.6 rpg, and -4.1 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Houston and New Jersey being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Houston and New Jersey had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement

Actually, I am more or less 100 % sure that the trade I posted will never happen, but if I was NJ, I would do it, and if I am Houston, hell yes, I'd do it. NJ saves a lot of money, they already have a marketable star in Vince Carter now. Houston can make a bold move that basically costs them two and a half years Kidd's salary (the other 1 1/2 years (Taylor 2, Weatherspoon 1) we would have to pay the powerless forwards anyway).

    So is

    +4 years of Kidd
    - 2 years of Taylor
    - 1 year of Weatherspoon

worth the salary for 2 and a half years Kidd?

I think so! And I would throw in a draft pick, too!

Kidd is not a good defender, and JVG would have a brain annurism with the speed of that offense.

To be fair, neither was Steve before JVG got here. JVG teaching someone to play D won't be a problem.
