In a hearbeat, I will trade T-Mac + Yao + AI + Kobe + Shaq + Dunkan + Garnett + Amare + Wade + Dirk + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks +dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + dharocks + for LeBron. Who is missing in the list?
Why would we NEED LeBron? LeBron can defend? So can Tmac LeBron can score in bunches? So can Tmac LeBron can pass to the open man? So can Tmac We have a player just as good, if not better, than LeBron already here. So what if LeBron is only 20 years old. Tracy's only 24. Unless Tracy was like 30 or older, age is a moot point. Comparing the the stats of their first two years won't help pro-LeBron causes either. Tracy wasn't even the best player on his team when he was a rookie. He didn't come into his own until his 4th year and that was his first year as being the go-to guy for Orlando (27/8/5). So basically we don't need LeBron. We got 1997's version right here.
Monday morning quarterbacking this question does TMAC injustice. In his prime Mc Grady gave it to Lebron, Carmelo and KD lets not forget that
I don't see anyplace where tinman participated in the original discussion . . . where was he? polishing his super 99er trophy offline? inquiring minds want to know. you bump it, you earn it
At the time the most popular argument was Kobe vs McGrady. It was hard to say who was wrong in the moment, before you know that injuries and bad management will wreck one player's career versus another. In 2005 I also thought the Phoenix Suns would win a championship, never knew the Spurs would be contenders in 2015 after Duncan's retirement, had no idea who Steph Curry, James Harden, or Russell Westbrook were, thought the Dirk Nowitski Mavs would never win a ring, thought Yao would play another decade, and never thought the Kobe Lakers would win another ring. I also didn't know Bob Sura's career was over, and James Harden was 15 years old. Time keeps on slippin, slippin, slippin into the future
You're right, Kobe vs McGrady discussed a lot more, but LeBron at almost 5.5 years younger.. would have been a great move, maybe not as easy/clear in 05, but by 06/07 for sure. I mean he went to the finals with a trash roster, yes, in the East... but that's more than Mac sadly.
