We still need a big banging PF to rebound. Hopefully CD is on the hunt. Mo T is such a defensive liability and can't rebound to save his life. I think Juwon would be great off the bench-we would definately benifit from a younger more athletic PF.
sorry if i come of as a jerk when saying this, but way to state the obvious!...give us a little more meat to talk about, such as players or possible trades
You're not being a jerk. I was just bringing up general discussion. I'm not one for hypotheticals and specualtion.
I think with the last couple trades, we have found out how untradeable our power forwards have been. I mean, when the worst team in the West in New Orleans doesnt want you, that's saying something. I also think that hopefully well be able to get a good PF in the draft.
We don't need to wait until the Draft to get a big man. Don't know if ya'll recall we traded two players to N.O. for Wesley. That means we have a roster spot for one more player. This is a perfect time to take a peak into the NBDL to see who's leading the league in rebounding. Last time I checked it was James Thomas-14.5 rpg. (6-8, 235) out of UT and Rodney Bias-11.8 rpg (6-9, 240) out of Shelton State CC in Alabama coming in a close second. I'd be happy with either one signing on till the end of the season.
I know Thomas was a rebounding machine at UT but would any of those players really help our team? I hope they could but I think we can't bank of any players in the NBDL (right now) to help us.
While i agree we need a rebounder, let's keep the 27 year old and trade the 32 year old for a change!!
New Orleans didn't want them because they already have PFs. Why pick up more? That's like the Rockets going after another center. Also, Juwan Howard had 14 points and 12 rebounds tonight.
if we can package Mo together with the 1st rd pick/Gaines for a good PF, our team will be set. Then, if Gaines is gone, we could sign David Hawkins
Howard gaave us everything we could ask for tonight. But still his defense was poor. Seemed like Boozer was always were he wanted to be. The sad part is that Howarrd is the better defender of our two "good solid backup quality" power forwards. I think this problem will be solved by a free agent signing in the off season. Draft picks, especially mid rounders, have two problems. One they are hit or miss, and two, they take time to develop.
Amare Stoudemire @ 9 still makes me cringe.. We probably tried to trade up for him... at least we weren't Golden State and wasted the No.3 pick on Mike "Call me KVH" Dunleavy still... Boozer was a second round pick no? That's probably why we didn't trade our pick for PJ Brown... If you're smart I think you can find a tough senior PF in the draft with the number of foreign players and underclassmen comming out
I thought Howard's defense in the 3rd quarter where he was fronting Boozer was OUTSTANDING, and a reason that the Jazz's offense essentially stopped. If he played that hard all the time, we would not need another PF, heck if he lived up to his career numbers of 17-7, even 14-6 would be good enough. DD
i like how howard rebounds, but i wish he will perfect that midrange jumper. he will be great off the bench...but not as a starter. we def need to get rid of mo taylor...i love how im just repeating what everyone else is saying hahaha
