The Aggies still have a long way to go to get back to the glory days of the '80's and '90's. Damn...this one truly hurts. Nothing like the Cotton Bowl days of the early '90's. Granted we lost all of those, but those were respectable losses and they were all losses against top 5 teams. At least we are not 4-8 again
I am sure the recruits love to hear that. Really, what can coach Fran say to a recruit after a game like this. "At least we beat 2 decent teams this year" or "Yeah we lost again, but nobody can celebrate while getting blown out like Texas A&M" or "We finished ahead of Baylor"
I think it was a combo of A&M being inexperienced and Tenn being better prepared. I figured Tennessee would win this game, but I thought A&M would put up more of a fight.
A and M thought they must have been playing the Longhorns or something. They were UT, and their color is orange. hope nobody beat me to this joke.
Independence - WIN Iowa State 17 Miami (Ohio) 13 Houston - WIN Colorado 33 UTEP 28 Alamo - Loss Ohio State 33 Okie State 7 Holiday - WIN Tech 45 Cal 31 Cotton - Loss A&M 7 Tenn 38 Rose- WIN UT 38 Michigan 37 Orange - 1/4 Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!) SC
you gotta hand it to the Big XII, when we lose, we do it in style. 30+ to 7 both times. but we win the close ones. now usc can beat the hell out of ou and the conference will still have a good record.
On a side note: I would have really loved to see this Utah team against a real competitor in a BCS game. It really sucks that they didn't even get the chance to prove themselves on New Years Day. Texas-Utah would've been a good matchup methinks. Even though I think Texas would have won, I think Utah would've showed everyone they deserved to be there.
