Their problem isn't with the pg position. It is with their defense. Cato is hurt but their coach is as clueless on defense as JVG is on offense.

Welcome to the Orlando Rockets. All those problems were our problems last year.

I'd take Mobley. We need his D and running ability.

If they are looking for defense, why would they be trading their best perimeter defender?

How about we get some more rebounds and blocked shots, rather than drooling over how many points anyone in the NBA averages per night?

And there is no way Cat is coming back to play for JVGumpy. Not to mention he's due a hefty raise and i don't think anyone will take Wetherspoon, MoT, or Howard for free. Just so we could re-sign Cat.

I think i'll just drink some yager 'till this makes sense.:D

The Rockets were smart in never moving him. His defense on PG's is already bad, and now people want him to guard taller guards? Ouch.

Francis is who he is, there is no changing that. He's not a good PG, but he is a great player. Frankly, I don't think he'd do well at any other position besides 1. He's not a good spot up shooter by any means. His highest FG% (dunks, layups withstanding) is when he shoots off the drible in rhythm. You know, you could always see it coming -- rocks back and forth, fakes the drive, pulls up.

The biggest problem I have with Francis is it seems like he's never matured. He looses focus too many times, only to repeat the same quote after the game - "we took them too lightly, etc." Francis will be unbelievable when you have the national tv camera on him -- outside that it is anyones guess.

Cuttino is an above-average defender, who is also an above-average shooter. The problem with him is he forces the issue a lot. He knows he's good, and he's going to take as many shots to get his points to tell you he's good. That's one thing about Tmac -- how many shots do you see him take when he's doubled? He could quite possibly be the most unselfish all-star I've ever watched play.

I'd give the Rockets the edge in the deal, solely based on Tmac. But for those who want to go further with it:

    Cato/Francis/Mobley for Tmac/Howard/Gaines/Barry

That's what it was in a nutshell. IMO, Tmac was worth all three of those ex-Rockets, he's simply amazing.

I'd give up Mo-T for Cat anyday.
